Zorian is a teenage mage of humble birth and slightly above-average skill, attending his third year of education at Cyoria’s magical academy.

He is a driven and irritable young man, consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, whom he resents for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, he has no time for pointless distractions or paying attention to other people’s problems.

As it happens, time is something he is about to get plenty of. On the eve of the Cyoria’s annual summer festival, he is killed and brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take a train to Cyoria.

Suddenly trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, Zorian will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery before him. And he does have to unravel it, for the time loop hadn’t been made for his sake and dangers lurk everywhere…

Repetition is the mother of learning, but Zorian will have to first make sure he survives to try again — in a world of magic, even a time traveler isn’t safe from those who wish him ill. Collapse

I’m over half way but it’s all in the time loop, thought I think he’ll have one last loop outside of the time loop where he’ll have to do it perfectly or something like that

It has a few slow moments but at around 60 I’m consistently interested. And the slow parts all matter in the end, so it’s not just the author trying to pad out more chapters

This novel is amazing with deceptively long chapters. I found myself completing a chapter and realizing that it was only one instead of 20, which shows considering it took the author 9 years to complete the novel. It's a slow burn but it has one of the best endings and overall resolutions I've ever read, I highly recommend it. There are some slow parts, but it all builds up and ties together.

    Review Time ~~
    • Great novel. 4.9stars
    • Starts off feeling like a implausible journal, but gradually the author breathes life into the story.
    • The novel gets better as it progresses, just like aged wine
    • Satisfying Ending, with no obvious plot holes.
    Will definitely recommend reading this

    My Tip:
Stick till the end. You won't regret it, I promise!
    satisfied

I'm conflicted, because the writing is good, the concept is good and the characters are interesting. But as of chapter 18 I'm dropping it for now because the utter stupidity of the main character is grating on my nerves, he had a really prime example of the fact that he is not invincible despite being in a loop at the beginning, yet despite hiding the fact that he is looping from his fellow looper and resolving to grow more capable. He grows increasingly, stupidly riskier with every paragraph. Plot armor is helping him make it beneficial for him, but I really dislike such application of plot armor to reward stupid behavior from an otherwise supposedly careful character. He has all the tools he needs to grow strong enough and capable enough of resisting the things that can threaten him from the safe environment his loops put him in by default, yet instead of availing himself of them until he is strong he is doing this risky stuff while he is still an utterly weak chicken because of some immaterial concept about a soul bond that just feels forced and it just makes me frustrated. So, dropping for now.

You're making a mistake brother. I and several other readers will say the exact same thing. Zorian grew so much, and in such a satisfying and logical manner.

It gets a whole lot better, with a satisfying ending too.
