Good concept, but as always butchered bt tl. Till the ascension to upper relam it was ok, but after that it grazually become edited mtl.. well if you can bear with it, you can try. But i dont bother to taint my dao of reading with mtl. Also after ascension to the upper relam mc suddenly becomes dumb, and there is less and lesser intelligent use of system. Also it seems like author kinda nerfed system to increase chapter count .

Mc seems to have fetish of helping his enemies and rewarding offense.
I mean first it was the fox, she first tried to kill mc, and after she became mc's maid, she stole a lot of stuff. For punishment? Nothing.
Second was demon sect Yuan Qingtian, he tried to kill mc, then he became disguised mc's helper and mc just went on all kinds of looting missions while basically throwing treasures at Yuan Qingtian.

It's pretty infuriating. I'm not saying he needs to be cruel, but can he not freaking reward theft and assault that happens to him??

Overall, he's just doormat/piggy bank for other people even all during the novel. If you constantly give out stuff, people expect it, and characters definitely expect mc to give out stuff in this novel. So yeah, he's just a cash cow. There's difference between being generous and wasting money. For example, he could use all this money to enrich his own sect/territory/people thus basically doing a lot of good for a lot of people, while also benefiting him, but he just gives stuff to random people.

I quit reading at chapter 179. In terms of volume, this is almost a quarter of the novel. And it's terribly boring.
The main character is a man who creates problems for himself. Everywhere. Is always. In any case, he creates problems, which he then heroically solves.
Plus, I didn't like the style of the novel. The jokes are very primitive, the constant narcissism of the protagonist quickly gets bored, the tragedy also does not work. What do I care about the death of nameless extras?

I wouldn't say the novel is bad. At some point, I enjoyed reading. But then I just got bored.
I should note one nuance. I have read hundreds of novels about cultivators. Realistically, hundreds. Therefore, many plot moves seem insipid, secondary to me, and "I've already read this somewhere, it's boring."
Perhaps for a beginner, the novel will look more attractive than for me. And he appreciates it more.

kinda fell off chap 330 ish, after being dragged through the gutter by the "human race" he still insists its the best and will keep fighting for it even though its done little to nothing for him, in fact the "human race" is hunting him like a rare treasure to help with their own cultivation, is caught up in infighting and self destruction, even when he saves the day single handedly, they still want to kill him with some BS excuses. Parents credit stolen, almost wiped out by the "human race", teacher's disciple framed for being a coward and teacher locked up for 100 years by "human race", MC gets cucked multiple times by "human race" and continues on with a smile, etc. It's just so tiring reading justifications for the MC's action being "for the human race" etc etc.

It feels like china's patriotism brainwashing saying, do everything for the countr- I mean human race even if it does nothing for you etc etc. Have the MC work for himself only and the people close to him.

This was pretty good. There were genuine chuckles, some deep moments near the end, the MC isn't an idiot nor was he edgy. No misplaced "everyone is bad and incompetent if they aren't Chinese" either.

If you're the type to demand your stories have edgelord MCs then this will definitely not be for you. For everyone else, I suggest giving it a try.

PS: ABOUT THE TRANSLATION
I wouldn't call the translation "bad", I'd say it is erroneous but let me clarify with an explanation.

So there is absolutely NO point in this story where you won't understand the translation nor are there any parts that seemed like it was MTLed.

The problem with the translation is that multiple people did it, I wouldn't be surprised if more than one person translated a single chapter, so it lacks 1.) direction. For example, early on the usually untranslated word "dantian" was being translated as "diaphragm", it was confusing af.
2.) a LOT of names get changed even just at the next paragraph and then come back after a few paragraphs. So those include mostly names for battle moves, cultivation level, sect name, and title. 3.) a lot of his/her/he/she is incorrect. So it could be talking about a beautiful woman but the translator kept using "he", so you 100% understand that it's a woman (because it was mentioned) and you 100% understand what's happening, but it's annoying as well because the wrong pronouns are being used.

So the translation will NOT cause you to misunderstand the story, it's just that you'll have to parse a few things because there's a lot of tiny errors all throughout.

This was not the best translation or the best plot or the best world building or anything but, this was a true pleasure to read this to the end. Some of the friends haven't made it to the end, sometimes the decision made was difficult and the responsibility was crushing. This book got me emotionally and this is first time I've read such book and I hope its not the last.

I hope more people will find this gem and maybe even improve the translation. It deserves more.
