[Infinite Regression Genre]

There is such a genre. In any novel, regression is a cheat key!

What if it’s the ability of [Infinite Regression]?

No need to worry about any bad endings, after all, the protagonist will eventually reach a happy ending.

“Cheat key my foot.”

I tried it myself and it wasn’t so.

The success myths of regressors depicted in various novels are actually fake news…!

They were merely vile propaganda…!

“This run is doomed too.”

This is not a story of success. It’s a tale of a failure’s aftermath.

The heartfelt true-life documentary told by someone with 1183 runs of experience, now begins! Collapse

Not bad, but most of it is 'side content' which can be hit or miss depending on what you prefer. The actual plot is rather sparse and, if you pay attention, not particularly tight.

There is no progression. It is literally the title. The author tells random stories about the world Mc is living in through a second point of view (through Mc). You finish one arc and then it feels like you are starting a completely new novel.

I read until chapter 100 and I hated wasting my time. Don't get me wrong, there are some interesting arcs (like the first one). But what is the point if everything said will be irrelevant in the next arc?

Yolks1 I'm sorry to say that this is basically a Roguelike Experience where the MC is slowly building up The Perfect Run and decided to tell a his journey as a story for others to follow along. monk

Yolks24 Their is many instances where we see this occur, like the girl who is reading a novel about him and is slowly catching up to him over time by many chapters as he regress over and over again. another one is that other girl who gains more vitality or years of life to spend on her ability as it saves up the unspent years she still has when a regression occurs and passes it down to herself in the latest regression. 18

Yolks20 Their is more but you got to read though to find the puzzle pieces to ending the run. My main concern is will there be a restart at the end that lets the Mc Truly get more powerful in exchange of truly resetting everything back to their origins. what

i agree, t's a story about a failed regressor and the stories of his endless regression. it's not a bad novel since the world building, the power scaling, story telling is top tier as expected of sss class suicide hunter author buuuut I'm really not into up for a failed ending so I have 0 drive to finish this through

Edit: its getting harder to read as author keep introduce unfamiliar reference/lore of other story/myth. Since my life isnt revolving around fiction, its harder to get interested to it. Its annoying when MC start flexing how knowledgeable he is about the original lore and due to how MC defines anomaly, the way how he solve it isnt interesting either. I guess it will keep like this until the outer god class anomaly all managed... In this stage, mystery genre should be added and the theme of the story is collection of fiction, myth, and belief references...

Overall good read experience. But cant be read all in one sit. Reading between arcs below chapter 80 quitely heavy to start as the information author tell us almost completely unfamiliar but its bearable because author write it in humorous manner. After chapter 80+ author has introduced all the characters with their impressible unique side and reading becomes more easier. But personally, in the later part there are still buts, but whatever I wont write it...

While I agree that some of the time there are things that are almost completely unfamiliar that only people with very select knowledge would know (such as the gun and why all guns are irrelevant in this world), most (around 90% in my opinion) revolves around things that normal people should have at least heard about, especially a reader of the fantasy-fiction genre. In one of the later arcs, there is a guy who 'becomes' the Ship of Theseus conundrum. Things such as these should at the very least be known to people.

Also, this is obviously from the anomalous fiction genre, why would you expect things to make sense? The SCP Foundation is an obvious point of reference with all the stories and strange anomalies. This genre is filled with 'unknowns' shoved in your throat and questions that would most likely not get answered (though in this book it is different, so this statement may not hold).

Of course there may be some bias in my statement, but otherwise rebutted I will believe this statement to be factual. If anyone wishes to say otherwise (such as the OP) feel free to rebut my comment.

    Classification: A+ (4.8 to 5.0)

(It has a clear potential to be a masterpiece if it maintains its quality until the end.)

Number of chapters read: 230 cps

Yes, I know it's basically impossible to guarantee 5 stars, but I have to say this novel deserves it! wiseacre

Okay, enough bias, let's move on to the impartial and cold analysis. 3

Summary of the work (without spoilers):

The novel "I’m an Infinite Regressor, But I’ve Got Stories to Tell" is a typical regression work with its original twist: the lack of a linear narration. Utilizing both first and third-person narration, with the narrator being the protagonist and regressor himself, it tells various stories of his regressions, most being tragedies with a hint of happiness, but almost always with bad endings, in the sense that the world ends. 13

This is basically the premise, and for those who still don't understand what the novel is about, I'll explain in one sentence middle : "This is the story of a failed regressor who never really achieves a perfect happy ending. He fights to save a world already dying after an apocalypse that destroyed it and ushered in an era full of beings called anomalies."

Unlike all other regression novels, here we are not following the MC fighting through the regressions because the story is not linear. We do not go from the 1st regression to the 2nd and so on. Instead, we are presented with stories that do not really follow a sequence. Even so, the author managed to write the story in such a way that we do not get lost while reading, kudos to him for this achievement. welldone

Here we come to the end of the review. I leave you with a question about the novel for those still hesitant to read it: "What could be the difficulty for an infinite regressor in saving the world?" kef

Coiling Dragon. By far the best novel I've read, cultivation or otherwise.

It's so good, it spawned a parody fanfic called "Warlock in Magus World" based entirely on a side character that appeared in a single chapter. And that novel is great too, though not quite as good.

Well, if you've read this far, then you've got a lot of patience, eh! oru2x

Being serious, now. I hope you can hear a little wish from me: for some time now, I've seen a downward trend in the quality and quantity of Ranobes reviews.

We all know that those who do these reviews don't get anything for it, they spend part of their day to write and maybe edit and proofread these reviews, just to post them and get nothing in return.

That's why I ask each fellow reader, if they like a review, whatever it is, to leave a comment encouraging, praising or even complementing the review itself. If you find this too tiring, a positive vote also makes a difference.

I know it seems silly to be commenting on something like this, since this is an aggregator site and not a review site, but that's life, sometimes we need a jerk to bring up a subject.

Well that's it, have a good read! welldone
