Game has become reality, toppling the world’s rules. Humanity has entered an era of global class awakening.

Demonic creatures wreak havoc! Secret realms and dungeons proliferate!

Terror and treasures coexist! Danger and opportunity walk hand in hand!

Only by becoming a class user! And raising your level and becoming stronger! Only then can you stand at the top of the world!

On the day of his class awakening, Lin Moyu became Necromancer, which is a unique hidden class.

He obtained a godly talent. Despite being merely a level 1 talent, it amplifies all skills by 10 times.

He obtained a godly passive skill, which transfers all damage he suffers to his summons.

As a result, so long as his summons aren’t completely annihilated, Lin Moyu won’t die.

“An endless swarm of Godly Skeletal Warriors!”

“Millions upon millions of Lichs!”

“Countless Undead Bone Dragons!”

“Can you handle it?”

Subjected to curses, gods transform into white bones.

When corpses explode, the sky topples and the world collapses.

“I sit high upon a throne of bones, treading the boundary between life and death.”

“I am a disaster!” Collapse

mtlnation didn't let me read them either, until I created a google account, then it let me. I might date myself as a little older here, but Lao Tzu has a yahoo account I usually use. It didn't register yahoo as a valid email account for some reason.

Were you having that problem also?

I've read the MTL up to 1572 and so far I'm really liking this one. It reminds me a bit of "Complete Martial Arts Attributes" "swallowed star" and "martial world". It sort of starts with a LitRPG genre with classes and then morphs into a traditional xuanhuan type novel out in space. Each area is more powerful than the next, and the MC investigating the "ancient times" and how the rules changed.

So, the MC is obviously a necromancer. Humanity is fairly united and at war on their planet with alien races that invaded. Stuff happens, MC gets stronger, and leads the charge. Naturally, this leads to another arc away from the planet. As you may guess, more humanity vs alien races with the idea of the class system now dropped and a more traditional xuanhuan power system beginning to replace it - with law comprehension now. MC does retains his abilities, but the focus is law comprehension. He is quite OP for his level throughout the story, crushing others with armies of powerful skeletons.

Then there is a stronger area after that, and so on. Along the way the book is slowly morphing to the MC beginning to study the rune structure and how it relates to ancient times, how it relates to his rather different starter planet, and how it relates to his rather unique heritage.

Thank goodness the book doesn't lack young masters and tournaments, or I wouldn't know how to react. MC is a calm type notorious for disliking speaking but hates alien races and goes out of his way to kill every one he sees, determined to annihilate their races if he can.

A little slow paced, but still enjoyable to read if you like the big xuanhuan adventures like "martial world" and stuff. A good 4 and half out of 5 I'd say.

Since you asked, these are some super duper spoilers. Don't read further if you can't handle them.

        Supergod
        True God
        God King
        God
        Other Side
        Heaven Ranked
        Supreme

9 levels of each, just like a regular xuanhuan novel - no more stats/levels that kind of thing. Still a little LitRPG though, like a hybrid novel with xuanhuan.

It is a Chinese novel, a Chinese author. Is it so surprising?

I wouldn't even blink to find out that a Chinese person is racist.
Secondly, even if they were not, they must pretend to be. If they don't want their novel to be censored, to be banned from writing in the future and all that jazz, they must be properly patriotic.

That means never writing about China's government, culture, food, and all that in a bad light. While there might be occasional bad seeds in their writing, there is always dutiful ones who rein in the bad seeds. How often do you see in Chinese urban novels a powerful family causes the MC to be arrested by corrupt police (the MC NEVER resists btw) and then the MC is freed by other government agents? Often.

All it takes is a complaint and their novel is banned. They can't write anymore, and maybe they get arrested. Take the "racism" in stride, dude. It's not the most important issue in life, unlike how American libtards carry on about it.

Recently more Chinese authors write more reasonably than in previous years. So to be so blatantly anti-human is indeed a bit surprising.

I wouldn't even blink to find out that a Chinese person is racist.

That novel quote is on the level of being anti-human and not just racism.

That means never writing about China's government, culture, food, and all that in a bad light.

Except this isn't true. You can still complain about aspects of China so long in the end China is portrayed in a good way. You can definitely complain about corrupt officials so long you eventually introduce patriotic officials who do the right thing. I have definitely read such novel that included at least a certain degree of Chinese supremacy.

Take the "racism" in stride, dude.

I would take it if it wasn't full of hypocrisy and anti-human elements. When Chinese authors literally claim that Europeans didn't even have historians and were so stupid that they didn't even know how to write down important events I am gonna take offense. I am also gonna take offense when they claim that Europeans were so stupid that they didn't even know common agricultural sense (of that time) when they depended on that common sense to survive. Even before the whole Jesus Christ event, people knew to rest their fields. Now some Chinese illiterates want to convince that they were too stupid to know such a thing. Or they complain that people call them yellow skinned (literally first time I heard such a slur was from Chinese authors, it is more likely to hear some kind of slur in regards to their face other than something else) when they themselves have created specific words to mock other cultures. For instance, they usually assume all westerners are blonde and call them yellow-haired dogs. The world for gangsters/low-lives is literally yellow haired.

The cherry on to of all that is they claim to be some kind of beacon of humanity when they actually discriminate against all other humans who don't look like them. They also have a weird obsession with hair and eye colour.

Don't they? Yeah, you get used to it if you read Chinese novels. I honestly think about 95% of Chinese novels show racial bias if there is some sort of Earth-like urban setting. I really don't know how much of it is for a show of patriotism or actually biased.

I think Koreans are even worse. Koreans seem to worship money and objects whilst the Chinese worship their culture. Koreans are "trash" if they don't have a great job, expensive car and phone, and beautiful home. At least that is how they are shown in their writing.

Here in the US, we don't worship wealth like that unlike our general worldwide reputation. Noone will ever look down on you for having a cheap car and renting an apartment - you might have a harder time to score girls, but that's it. There's always an outlier who wants to drop trousers and compare sizes, but that's rare in this old man's experience.

As for this book - SUPER DUPER SPOILER

I've read the MTL up to the newest chapter (2000) and it's still staying strong, interesting, and enjoyable to read. There were some grindy parts in the earlier chapters where it felt slow and the point systems are a bit wonky sometimes. still 9/10
If you want to start: Read the manwha then go straight to the MTL

In general, the TL is fine except for the cultivation realms and some names are funky.

5/10, read till ch 78, good to pass the time if barely.
Feels like your generic korean dungeon + system story if you add the annoying chinese tropes of op system cheat, young master appears, belitles MC, gets face slapped. Rinse and reppeat.
Every girl that has been described as remotely pretty somehow develops an interest in MC "mysterious chatacter (He just doesnt talk)" instantly

Im fully caught up as of now (Chap 104) and have just started the Webtoon/Manhua. The Catastrophic Necromancer Webtoon is definetly better imo. Whilst it does skip over some things and provides less detail in some parts, a lot of the things Skipped are either beneficial or not important.

One of the big issues I had with this novel was how the academy he chooses is constantly described as being for the elite of the elite, yet they are shown as being dumb at times. In one Dungeon there is a turtle boss with a hard shell and despite YEARS of previous challengers, everyone is shocked and surprised that MC mentioned you can flip the turtle over to attack it... this conversation is just skipped entirely in the manhua. A decent amount, but not all, of the peanut gallery stuff is skipped over as well, which is always a plus.
Another good thing that is skipped over, is that he is told how important points are and to never waste points on things he can get with money, yet he wastes them on a bunch of skill scrolls - the same level as ones he also buys for money. What he used to buy them is skipped over in the manhua, so it isn't an issue.

On the other hand, some things that happen in the novel after being explained a bit beforehand just show up out of nowhere in the manhua.

Some downsides/annoyances of the Manhua translation is the inconsistent translation of skills etc. But an authors note included references that and said they do it purposefully for "fun". Which sounds dumb to me personally, since it makes keeping track of things way more difficult for no reason.
They also sometimes leave notification boxes untranslated, but that's mostly when it comes to spam notifications that are the same - they will translate at least 1 and leave the other copies in Chinese.

There look to be some changes as well, such as him buying a Scythe growth weapon as equipment instead of a set of 3 items which boost his Spirit stat. In the novel he buys it straight away, since with more Spirit he can summon more Skeletons, but in the Manhua it shows the set but he says its not useless for him, then introduces this Scythe that has been in the shop for ages that he buys instead, which is supposedly part of a Necromancer set. Though that doesnt really make sense given he is the seemingly the ONLY Necromancer class there has been and it is clearly not something anyone knows anything about, as all of his skills/summons are a shock to everyone, and not even the higher ups have any clue about what his class is about at first, which means there shouldn't be any stories/ideas of a Necromancer in this world, which also doesn't really make sense either, but whatever.

I generally prefer novel format to Webtoon/Manga/Manhwa/Manhua etc. But overall, I think the manhua version of this would be a better option than the novel, especially because it's apparently further ahead [though I haven't caught up yet to the same point].

Edit: Have read a bit more into the Manhua now and can safely say that it is much better than the novel. A lot of the idiotic things the MC or others do doesn't happen or is skipped and he also acts a lot smarter/better too.

These small changes just make the MC look smarter and more considerate, even though they are super minor and don't change much overall.
The biggest downside to the Manhua, which gets worse the more you read, is how the translation team don't care about consistency. When it was mainly just skill names they changed it was annoying, but manageable. But now they've even started translating other things differently for no reason. The institute he has been aiming to go to has changed from "Chuangshen Institute" to "Chuang Shen Academy" to "Creation Seminary." The "Dimensional Battlefield" changes to "Yuan Battlefield" etc.
