I dropped around the 400th chapter.

There is nothing bad about the story, but it feels kinda empty. No world building, no main plotline, no revange, no love story... Nothing to expect.

The only motivation for the MC is his love for martial arts, which is cool, but I don't feel compelled to read 3000 chapters of this.

Idk if things will change, but it's not for me.

Kind of sounds like you just didn't read for long enough. There's plenty of world building, main plotlines and revenge in this story. Not much if any love within the first 2000 chapters but there's plenty bromance I guess...?

Also ironic since the 400th chapter has negotiations between various nations around a dungeon, all of that should be considered world building. This story also borrows a lot of inspirations from The Mech Touch, another series that has great world building but also requires patience to get into.

That said the very core of the story is about superhuman martial artists and if that doesn't draw you in the story won't be for you.

I still believe this is written by the same author of The Mech Touch. It isn't just that it takes inspiration and has similar styles. The author here has even confused the MCs name to Ves a few times!

That's hardly proof, especially since the author, Lord_Streak, is an avid reader of Mech Touch. I even see them all the time in the Mech Touch discord.

Yeah, it probably isn't true. XD still it is odd to mistake your MCs bame for the MC of another novel that isn't even yours! I've seen it happen often enough with authors with multiple novels like awespec, but never like this. It is at least funny.

I think I dropped the novel back then for the set of reasons, except the world building, I loved the world Rui grows up in, but... he has no ambition. Why does he love martial arts so much, what does he intend to achieve with his strength, what's his goal beyond building his system? He had no dreams.
How do you get up from your bed if you have nothing to strive for? The only beings capable of such, are the hungry and freaking bots, and that because they're actually quite similar, they both move according to some already pre-established programming, whose purpose they generally don't know, and don't care to know.
A man without passion, is a dead man walking. That was what Rui felt like to me at some point, a dead man walking.

Your comment is absolutely absurd. His ambition is to become the greatest martial artist by completing his unfinished work and biggest regret from his past life, Project Water. It should be abundantly clear from the start that the MC is incredibly passionate and loves martial arts, especially now that he's fully capable of it in his 2nd life when he wasn't in his 1st.

Seeing such a comment I feel like you're quite ignorant of the lives of real life athletes.

    Review at chapter 3065.

Ive been reading novels for close to a decade now. This has the potential to be one of the best written novels. I think this is the authors first work and what a banger.

The novel starts slowly and takes its time. Think of the first 500-600 chapters as an investment because they are. They really are. The slow pacing helps because it literally establishes the base for the next 2500 chapters to follow.

Reading this novel has been such a joy. Stacking this for a while now. Can’t be following cliffhangers.

    Dear Lord Streak, thank you.

I want to read this but people are saying it's really slow or rather has a slow pacing. If even the people who are praising it are saying it's a slow burn than that says a lot... especially when it's nearing 3k chapters and it's still ongoing

100 chaps in i dont like it, 200 chaps in i still dont like it, 300 chaps in atm and im starting to like it.

its pretty slow yeah like the exact opposite of Infinite Mana in the Apocalypse.

it is flawed here and there like every book written but still a good read nonetheless.

I mean... I don't exactly mind slow pace but... 3k+ chapter and still ongoing... It's just concerning to invest in regardless if it's good or not, it's especially worse if it's good and then I can't do anything but wait a long time till I can get a conclusion

I usually like long stories especially if it's a good one and am a person who reads fast, so I like at least 1k chapter or more in novels and Martial Unity and Shadow Slave are one of them.
This is just my view and I understand if it's not the same for you.

Shadow Slave is fine, the pacing is just right, and the chapters are short, so you won't even notice when you've read several chapters at once, plus I'm pretty sure the story is at least over 80% complete, maybe even close to 90....

If that's the case, then that's good, but based on the reviews I've seen, I'm not so sure... I would still check it to form an opinion myself, but when I have the time and patience to read such a long series

trying to read this novel has become a chore now
    its not entertaining all
the author yapping has transcendent reality itself . what the heck does this chutiya(idiot) insane(person) want from life??? I can summarise the whole chapter in one sentence easily. DO you know what it means --if not then let me tell you ---I can cover 50 chapters in 50 sentences which means in a 1\4th of a chapter.
how much money farming he can do --how much money can he suck out of readers ?? I am pitying those fools who paying for it. This novel could have been over ages ago if not him trying to fill the whole chapters with a edgy kids thoughts in his puberty.

ps: have this author given the outline of this novel to his kid and told him write the novel like "go son flex you intermedite(mostly elementary) level english in these chapters"

From the way you've yapped here - you can't, but yeah I do somewhat agree that some chapters are filler through and through.

Now, for anyone concerned about the pacing, it is a slow paced novel so if thats not your jam then maybe this isnt for you. The chapters are somewhat short sometimes and its not too textually heavy so reading fast is a breeze

To you sir, id recommend going back to boilerplate Xianxia, you might find it more interesting. Hmu if you need recommendations.

P.S: You of all people really should refrain from making jabs on anybody else's English proficiencies, pls don't its embarrassing. 23

I read about 400 chapters and have some things to say

Like other reviewers said, this novel has good world building, excellent fights and a great MC who remains consistent and true to his character.

My only problem with this book is pacing. It is one of the slowest novels I have ever read, I would even say it is abysmally slow.

I generally don't read still ongoing "slowburns" as I don't have enough patience to wait for chapters and would rather enjoy the story in its entirety. So in the case of this book, I will do the same - drop for now, wait until it is completed, then come back and binge read it all. Till we meet again boast

The author barely brushes through these concepts and he does it in a very abstract way

the pacing isn't much of an issue in my opinion but I guess that could just be me
