I Started To Gain Sentience In An Eroge by Parmesan

Fun story. Slow start, but focus is on humor and characterization. Humor is good, but definitely has its own style - and if you aren’t a fan, it’ll grind on you the whole time. The characters are well written, and throughout the first act more and more details of the world start to emerge, and it’s really well done for a Chinese novel.

Just so you know what you’re getting into
MC is a literally mob character, no life, little agency - hell, he wasn’t even given a face by the creators of the eroge.
Setting is a yandere eroge, where the main character always ends up dying in the end, which resets the game. MC remembers every single run through, and it’s mentally f#cked up because of it. There are some really interesting plot points developing pointing to MC having more unconscious power over everything than we know.
Anyway, if MC deviates from his lines or actions, he quickly ends up dead. If he ventures away from the main cast, his memories start to go fuzzy, like the “simulation” only has so much processing power and it’s centering around the cast.
What makes this run different, is that the heroines can hear his thoughts, and are partly set free from the “game” by this, letting them think for themselves, and it’s revealed that without him, they literally don’t get a choice in what they do. Everyone is essentially a puppet without MC there.
Big FYI, MC is totally bonkers. He’s not an insert, or transmigrator or anything as of yet, and he literally has no idea how to interact with actual people - he’s spent thousands of years watching and desperately trying to change the rails of a short plot line.
Should be obvious, but big harem. Part of the changes MC starts to bring is releasing the memories of previous “simulations” where he tried for years to change the fates of each heroine. This makes them all realize he’s the only person who actually cares about them, and makes them feel like they owe him for everything he’s been through. (Doesn’t help that it’s implied they will only really stay free while involved with him in some way)

Not my standard fare, but it’s an enjoyable read - at least to the end of the first Arc - and I’d be happy to recommend you give it a shot through the first few chapters.

good start and interesting idea but kinda fell off quickly

Actually, the main problem starts with the pace of novel, it's too damn slow. I think I will read it after it is completed (i think so). The MC is insane (in a potful way). I just didn't like the romance the MC has I mean even now when heroines are trying to chummy with MC, they look forced just like the love between hero of eroge and heroines(this was a big turn off to me at least ) and well I thought that shouldn't the FL's be sus about the game thingy( shouldn't they think that this could be a new way the system is playing with them or something like that). Though I complain like this I actually like this novel quite a lot but still I hate the 2-dimensional way of the world like everything except the Main caste of Eroge is a shadow. Well, I liked the Concept too and I think veterans will like it for a change of pace.
Rating-7/10(if the concept was generic then it would have been 4 or 5, I think) 🍀💖

A very rare harem where girls really make sense to be in it.
The hero doesn't just walk around and pick up girls like in 99.8% of other novels.
Every girl has a story, and the guy really put in a lot of effort for their happiness, even knowing that it is impossible, and his efforts are useless.
As a result, he is completely broken and insane.
I will be interested to see how this bunch of yandere's will have to overcome their dislike for each other in order to "repair" someone who has suffered and fought for them for thousands of years alone.
The only complaint is very very very slow development. 50 chapters for only 1 day...
And there are no new chapters for almost 20 days. I hope the author didn't drop it.

The Perfect Run vibes (not similar what so ever story wise) but not a 10/10 and more like a 6/10

ok the synopsis is good, and the comments say that the story is fair good too, hmm... im not into harems but ill give a try
