When Yao Shen, Patriarch of the Heavenly Sky Sect, ascends and regains memories of his past life on Planet Earth, he realizes that he can no longer allow himself to accept the cruel and violent ways of Eliria, the realm of cultivation.

So he decides to change it.

It was time to found a new sect. One based on the values of honor and equality over senseless violence and discrimination. A sect where all, from the mortal farmer’s son to a sect elder's daughter, were held accountable to the same rules.

Welcome to the Modern Sect. Collapse

I have not read too much of the story but Iwould like to give a review. This story is like a big breath of fresh air, and to clear some doubts, no this is not a communism and china is better than every other country propaganda filled story. The story follows our mc who has lived a life both in a modern world and a xianxia world and he finds the xianxia ways of doing things too bloody and wants to change things but he immediately does not change into a saint who has forgiven everyone who wronged him, he still hates them but puts aside his hate for the world he want to see. He also is not a stupid mc who thinks the power of love will solve everything, he calculates and always has a plan. You won't see him trusting everyone and he knows that not all will would want to see a peace full world and he will totally use to teach them a lesson or even kill them. Also some might is the world strongest at the start but he is far from it. he is a strong to stronger type mc. the novels from some common problems like too much info dumps some times and some other and you might find it a bit cheesy, specially the start(i didn't) but it is defintely worth reading since it is insanely rare premise, to want world peace but knowing love will not get you there and violence will be a large part of it.

Too much info dump in chapter 6.
I didn't even read it but listened in tts with 2x speed.
The story itself is already unappealing but this killed any curiosity about this novel.

Just reading the synopsis sounds bad, has the same kind of vibe as when a regular human reincarnates as a demon lord or villain but tries to 'change' everyone into peace-loving peple.

This, daaamn boring type of xianxia and so unrealistic. A world where people are literally beings of different natures/strengths/inteligences/lifespan depending on their level of cultivation cannot be a peaceful and egalitarian world, it's just impossible.

I think it was an interesting idea. But, if it was on xiaxia where an individual power can overpower a country, there would be a lot of difficulties in writing a good story out of this concept.

This is so boring to read. It takes a few chapters to actually have anything noteworthy to happen

There would never be a place where all human will be punish in the same manner. There will always be exception for some people whether it is the King's family or the principal family. Only naive people believe in equality

That's true, equality only looks good on paper. And that's why the "law of the jungle" is the absolute principle even in our modern society because in some way or another, you'll put your own interest first before the others.

This is excellent so far in 25 chapters in and it’s going really well. Definitely my pick of the latest novels.
