If you are like me unable to tolerate Idiot MC's who goes around risking their lives caring about every beggar and talk about 'camaraderie' and acting all heroic 'caring about the world' then you can stop wasting time and go read another novel, For a small example there was once a fire in a classroom where a random NPC was supposed to die but this MC 'bravely' & 'gloriously' jumped inside the fire to be a hero where he was almost burnt to a crisp 👍

It is story with depth.
People who like details and back story would like this novel I think.
And it is more like Wuxia++ not Xianxia.

This is a pretty decent novel. Likable MC. Useful secondary characters. Novel has no weak part, there's no filler, author knows where he's going.
MC has a really useful cheat and it's what makes him different than the others but not so much that you feel MC is nothing without it and just rely on it and do nothing.
The power scaling is on the lower side, cultivators can't single-handedly kill whole armies so it makes the novel feel more grounded.
There's a lot of focus on the empire and its politics, it's not some cultivation grind weak to strong one against everyone else bullcrap.
Overall recommended.

i finished this novel sometime last year. i really enjoyed this one a lot. mainly bkuz there were no real shortcut to cultivation and instant power boosts plots. it was refreshing reading a slow paced novel for once.

i highly recommend. i need more novels like these.

drama is bad but everything is good, predictable and slow paced, bad that it isnt harem because 4 girls are decent enough

If you've seen the name of the novel and come here, if you're expecting a novel about demons, you're in the wrong place. But it is not a bad novel, it is recommended.

Seriously enjoying this novel so far and currently I am in book 8 towards the end and I can say with surety that u won't be disappointed, but some may also see this as slow as the starting 2 books are rather slow but important for the book but from there on it is not at all slow but rather a bit fast and yeah he does get some rest in between and all fights.

Edit:- after completing book 12

Hmm even though it got a major plot twist in between book 8 and 12 it seems to be a inclusive in the plot.(and also it might not be a plot twist as it should be something u should expect after seeing the situation)

I have to say this novel has characters who are incredibly fleshed out and are clearly not 1d or 2d characters.
