this just feels soulless like mc doesn't have a personality at all

even though it's all just inner thoughts of the Mc narrating the plot

it's like the Mc doesn't add anything to this so it's just very plain

also probably bad plot design if Mc gets an artifact that is supposedly the highest grade in chapter 4 with no risk

but ehh. it's a slop read

A few issues I've in the story:

For one, the story is called "... Goblin...", so I kind of expected him being a goblin actually matters for the story, but it doesn't. He doesn't act like a goblin at all, because he's a human reincarnated into one. It's also stated that he looks more like a demihuman (half goblin half human I think) than an actual goblin. His powers and evolutions also got nothing to do with him being a goblin. His times around other goblins or in goblin tribes are also so little and don't matter for the overall story at all. He could be any other monster that can be confused with a demihuman and it'd not have any real impact on the story.

The power system itself is also kind of confusing because you've got 2 versions of it, one for monsters (xth evolution) and one for everyone else (yth rank). These are not aligned with each other, so you need to remember which evolution rank is equivalent to which normal rank.

Then the author also has this issue of destroying the flow of the story by bringing in spoilers as part of the story. Not in any interesting way, but just smack bang into it for no reason whatsoever. One of them was so bad that I just stopped reading for a few days.

The author also sadly likes to write things multiple times. Like there are like 6 or so "announcements" for a level up of all the different things that get increased and the author writes them down for every level. MC gets 3 levels? Well, enjoy a huge text of just the same shit being repeated 3x that you've already seen a dozen times previously. It's just too much. Only exists to increase word count and I'd say everyone just scrolls over it, not reading it at all.

As for the stats themselves, I honestly don't really feel the impact of them in the story. It feels more like "he got stats so he's stronger now" instead of the stats themselves actually feeling like making a difference. There is just something missing to compare the stats with.

Lastly is the MC who just likes to take risks too much. I mean not just calculated risks, but cases where it was just plain dumb. i.e. in one scenario MC himself knew that to the place he was going there were people that are way, way stronger than him and that they might become an enemy. He himself stated this fact! And despite there being no time pressure to go there he just went there without having any plan on how to address the issue. Like seriously, nothing planned at all and he just went there! In the end he got saved by plot armor!

On the plus side however is that the overall story is good, decent world building, side character development and nice fights. That's why despite all the issues I'd still rate it as above average.
