The Second Coming of Gluttony탐식의 재림

I loved it. The author said it himself. It's not exactly a technical masterpiece, but it definitely does what it aims to do and does it well. It was hopeful. The story of redemption was told sincerely and I felt that. The highlight for me were the interactions between characters. Showing a silly and mundane life blending with high action made for a beautiful combination, it raised the stakes and made me care for the entire cast. I wish more novels did that. To properly give the characters time to live and for us to get to know them. If I had to choose, think of this book in terms of a good friend with something important to tell you. Enjoy.

В качестве первого произведения не буду советовать, т.к. это произведение, по моему мнению, написано специально для будущего цветного корейского комикса. А это значит, что уже есть большая цензура всего самого интересного.

Rare Korean novel where China and Japanese doesn’t get treated like a hellscape.

No rushed ending here, which is a breath of fresh air.

Anyone considering reading this should definitely give it a shot without any hesitation. The manhwa was bland and wacky. But the novel is different. It hooks the reader right from the start. The plot and characters are interesting, and the characters' emotions are portrayed very well. Fight or war scenes are 10/10. The author knows when to keep the story serious and when to make it funny.

9 in story, battle, world building
5 for character development (despite anyone would think off, his character still a piece of shit he is, if not for his 2nd rewind time in side story)
7 for comedy, no 5, comedy is too childish

A good read, but i cant stomach mc dumb, idiot character which is mc, but it's not so bad when author just write it in a few paragraph, not longer than 1-2 chapter or so. After all he's so detached to a real person so far, i really doubt a person could be so smart, axxhole, dumb, annoying, irksome and a total monster all at the same time with all getting 10 point at all those criteria

Just dont read the side story, it gives closure, but the writing and content is vastly different, in a BAD way. I regret reading it. It's not better but it got worst as a character imho

Just wtf with korean? Why they keep making such an extreme character? It's not fun to read when they make mc character over the top in everything except fun to watch.

Japanese had dumb character, but theyre fun to watch over. Chinese is constant, but at least you know you wont get any mood change from them soon, but korean? At least theyre short

Clumsy writing. Amateurish mistakes. Shallow understanding of things related to combat and warfare. System and magic is rather simplistic. MC's character is inconsistent and constantly stopping, shocked, mid-combat. Translator makes some rather confusing word choices.

Not unserviceable, but an incredibly frustrating read for older, experienced readers with a bit more knowledge under their belts.

I'd recommend it as a teens novel but some of the topics and language are too much for kids. Incorrect word choices would also miseducate them.

The best thing I have to say about this novel is that it's not as bad as others.

A great read

Truthfully this novel is not good. (the past me, had a pretty mid-sub taste) but I still liked it the first time I read it. It's one of those novels which is not good but close to your heart because u didn't know any better when u first read it. If I were to read this novel now, I would drop it and give a 2.5-star review but since I read it in the past, I have quite a big attachment to this novel. If ur new to novels in general, read it. U won't regret it and although it does a shit ton of things terribly, it still has a few things that can make you attached. The overall world and progression are good enough and reading something like this is much better than reading something incredible but not enjoying it cause u don't have enough experience reading novels. But, if ur experienced and have read at least 8-10 books then don't bother with this.

Reading this for the 2nd time is really painful with how the MC which is an adult man keeps blushing like a shy Japanese teenager with every sexual innuendo.

Unironically this novel would be a lot better and make more sense if Blackie got sent to the past instead of the current beta MC which for some reason turned suddenly into a "good guy"
