The Age of Mechs has arrived! Unfortunately, Ves Larkinson lacked the genetic aptitude to become a famed mech pilot. Fighting against his fate, he studied mech design in order to express his love for mechs in a different way and make his father proud.

When Ves graduated from college, he returned to a new but empty boutique. His dad had disappeared. Left with a small, newly founded mech workshop… Collapse

I read over a 1500 chapters and though the premise is nice as well as the world building the characters themselves on the other hand are quite plain, they have no qualties that can make them memorable the mc feels like he is a mixed bag of traits that don't make sense as the story goes on , he isn't good or evil , his ideals feels hollow like its something that he bends for his own convenience, though he is shown to be ambitious it just feels like that's all there is to him and not in a good.

I just wish Ves was more open to manipulating and creating spirits. Cause think if he invested just a bit into creating pantheons for the Rambarthans or Terrans. They would the whip Red Ocean into shape quick.

    Review:
The Mech Touch – A Cosmic Rabbit Hole of Worldbuilding Excellence.
I started reading The Mech Touch between chapters 3000 and 4000, when the Red Ocean arc was introduced, and I'm still reading it until chapter 7000. I can safely say: if you like kingdom building with a sci-fi-magical twist, this novel is top-tier.

Strong Point: Worldbuilding and Kingdom Building
The most impressive aspect of this work is the author's absurd level of planning. Elements seemingly thrown in way back end up connecting thousands of chapters later. The worldbuilding and the development of the protagonist's organization carry this story like titans from Greek mythology. There's so much information, so much construction of factions, powers, cultures, and politics, that it feels like the author is writing in Excel spreadsheets or complex mind maps in Obsidian. And that's meant as a compliment.

    Characters:
I didn't like all the characters. Some are irritating, others generic, and a few are truly memorable. At first, the story's direction was a bit hazy, with the protagonist (Ves) oscillating between frustrating decisions and moments of genius. But when he founds his organization, the story truly finds its way. Most interestingly, many early characters return later, organically, which provides a sense of continuity and realism rare in novels of this size.

    A Gigantic Journey
The novel is extremely long—each chapter is between 8,000 and 14,000 characters. That's literally millions of words, which can be overwhelming. I've read it twice, and I still forget details because the sheer density of information is absurd. There are revelations that completely change what you thought you knew. Many "truths" turn out to be lies, and vice versa. Sometimes the pacing is extremely, extremely slow, other times it leaps hundreds or thousands of chapters in terms of progression.

    Realism and Atmosphere
Despite the fantasy elements, the author creates a sense of realism and internal coherence in the universe. The laws of physics and politics make sense. There's an interesting balance between science fiction, mystical elements, and political construction. The writing style is not that especial but becomes more sophisticated and stylized over time, as if the story takes on its own tone and texture. The spatial feel is very well conveyed – I often read while listening to space music, and it fits perfectly.

    The Protagonist:
Ves isn't the story's badass. He's powerful, but also flawed, contradictory, and sometimes stubborn. This makes him more believable. He makes mistakes, pays the price for bad decisions, and must constantly adapt. This humanity is refreshing amidst so many overpowered and one-dimensional protagonists we see.

    Final Thoughts:
What keeps me reading isn't so much the protagonist's fate, but rather what will happen to the world. The scale of the narrative, the interstellar politics, the rising civilizations—everything is so well-woven that it feels like an endless space opera. Even though there are forgettable moments, and you feel like your brain is going to melt from so much information, the author's commitment to the story is admirable.

Overall rating: 6.5/10 swim want sigh puke
Rating for worldbuilding/kingdombuilding enthusiasts: 10/10 kef kef kef

This novel could easily become a visual novel, a space-based tactical RPG, or even a strategy game with a spreadsheet interface. The Mech Touch isn't for everyone, but for those who go down the rabbit hole, it's a journey that's hard to put down. It could be adapted in countless ways, but I just think it's a lot. A lot, in fact.

I am gonna say, after some time in Red Dwarf Galaxy i just stopped reading.

Ves is the reason, i just couldnt stomach his hypocricy and how he became a person his younger self would despise.

The guy makes stupid/risky decisions just for himself and doesnt care about how much pain/damger he brings to them

      -Spoiler for later-
Also hate how he just experimented on his child without knowing what it can do to her, or how much of negletfull He and ,,Her,, are

      Rant over

    Story is good.
    MC is bearable.
Quality of writing is below average.
    Pace is absolute garbage.

To sumarise in simpler terms, 10% of content is actual story while 90% of it is bullshit that author spews out from god knows which hole on repeat.

Why am I still reading? As I said, if you remove bullshit its a good story. I assure you that your skimming skills will soar to new heights once you read this novel. I scroll through most chapters in like 10 seconds and find events that actually move plot forward.

So, dont get overwhelmed by chapters. You will fly by them like a breeze, literally.
