I have two principles as a human being:

1. Never lie.

2. Never believe anything anyone says, including myself.

“Sir, I must point out that your second principle contradicts the first.”

“Where’s the contradiction?”

“If you never lie, why don’t you believe what you say?”

“Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention, I don’t consider myself a human being.”

“???”

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cheng Shi. The very same Cheng Shi who never deceives.

What, you haven't heard of me?

No worries, it's simply because I haven't deceived you yet.

Soon you'll remember me.

I don't understand such a world. A person is strong in society and his environment (tools) and is valuable for his experience and knowledge. And then the gods come, take away the first and the second (civilization), and throw people into trials that require diverse and rich experience.
But if civilization and society are destroyed and all people are alone, then new people with experience will not appear! This means that the game will end very quickly!

Pretty interesting. Infinite game, and I don't know how the author will use that as I think it harms the story rather than benefits it, but.... I'm a pessimistic person.
Characters can only be so deep in infinite flow and 20 chapters in, but they are okay. Its kinda like a superhero story where everyone has their classes and their personality follows their power. The world building is okay, well at least it seems cohesive. However, its not focusing on the mysterious past of these different realms. The plot is okay, nothing too exciting. The magic system is pretty interesting and how those powers tie into the characters and in turn plot, is pretty good, ngl.
A plus is that there is no romance

Imagine a high-stakes "Escape Room" marathon: characters are trapped by a mysterious power and forced to survive one dangerous, supernatural game world after another just to stay alive.

Because Infinite Game relies on jumping from one world to the next, it can feel repetitive. The author could get stuck in a "monster-of-the-week" loop rather than progressing a meaningful main plot.

The thing that I hate about this infinite games genre is that they don't have an ending they always drag on to oblivion I hope this one doesn't go that route

40 chapters in and so far its peak . the setting and the writing is reminiscent of My House of Horrors while the mc reminds me of klein from LOTM. the mc is smart and hilarious and not too op.

Daoist Inkdrunk Review — Foolish Game of the Gods

Short summary: "Six months ago, the gods descended...and the world turned into a game of faith.

Players choose a god. Gods grant power. Every seven days, the trials begin."

That alone would be enough for most authors.
    This one goes much further.

If you need a comparison, think of a version of Lord of the Mysteries where the protagonist could switch pathways ....except he isn’t overpowered, and he certainly isn’t safe. But let me be clear: this is not another LOTM. It has its own spine, its own rhythm, and its own brand of cruelty.

The protagonist, Cheng Shi..... player name I Never Lie.... is a priest of [Deceit] (the god in the book and there are many gods like them). Ironically, he was raised to be honest. That tension defines him. kek

He wants to live a quiet, decent life.
He cannot. So he lies... carefully, strategically, sometimes even to himself.

He is an unreliable narrator, and not in a cheap way. You are given clues about who he truly is, but you must assemble them yourself. He is shameless without being cringeworthy, clever without being infallible, kind without being naïve. He does not fully trust anyone....not because he is heartless, but because the world punishes sincerity.

    And the trials.

Each seven-day divine trial feels like a self-contained masterpiece of mind games and layered deception. The twists do not exist merely to shock; they recontextualize everything you thought you understood. Information that seems minor returns arcs later with devastating relevance. The author connects separate trials and separate players in ways that feel deliberate, not accidental.

    Nearly everything matters.

The power system is one of the strongest elements. Classes, faiths, skills....even players with the same god or class can manifest entirely different abilities. It is flexible without feeling arbitrary. It invites creativity. At times, I hesitate to say this, but in terms of systemic design alone, it rivals..... and occasionally surpasses..... what LOTM accomplished. (pls dont hate me for this....i love both of them T_T)

The worldbuilding is layered inside layers. Post-apocalyptic fracture. Faith as currency. Gods whose lore drips slowly, tantalizingly, leaving you wanting more. Each trial world contains history dense enough to carry its own novel.

The cast is equally impressive. Side characters are intelligent. Some are as clever as the protagonist... some sharper. They have goals, motivations, and consistent personalities. Even when new players enter every trial, many return in ways that reward careful readers.

    Is it flawless? No.

Tracking every player can get confusing. Some traits occasionally overlap. Certain scenes lean into graphic gore more than necessary. The opening chapter is rough....many will bounce off it prematurely.

But if you push past that beginning, something rare happens.

    It accelerates.

The mystery deepens. The psychological tension thickens. The pattern of trials evolves into something much larger. There has not yet been a single arc that felt empty. Every resolution leaves your pulse elevated and your mind racing backward through earlier chapters.

And perhaps most impressive of all: there is no harem. No forced romance. No cheap emotional bait.

    Just strategy. Faith. Lies. Survival.

This is one of those novels that makes you want a proper wiki. That makes you map details for yourself. That makes you reread chapters because you know you missed something. cry

    Enter without expectations.
    Stay for the mind games.
    Remain for the gods.

    — Daoist Inkdrunkwanderer,
    He never lies. Probably.
    Trust nothing. Especially the priest.

this has made it interesting enough for me already, if the author is able to build a nice story with that tension in the back ground then very good.

I apologise in advance if I'm wrong but I didn't know we were so "blessed" to have promo bots in the comments.

Edit: there was a long ass promotional post here that read like a spam bot. they were offering services for art commission.
