For long have a tread the path of poison. Yet today, I fell victim to the horrors of a sudden and hidden poison.

The great poison of sudden and horrendous nationalism.

Story was great, Author did research, and it was interesting, a unique premise and a good execution.

Then suddenly... It struck, the great 'i treat everyone fairly and distainfully as a god, expect china of course , an arch-angel and a demon will bow and show respect to china, because unlike everyone else, china is great'

Take it with a grain of salt, but the poison was sudden and it was cruel.

Mind you, the path I tread was the way of the MTL, so normal chapters will have awhile before this hidden poison strikes.

Pre-poison = 9/10
Post-poison = 5/10

Good novel, author clearly researched the nations and people he wrote about even if it can be exaggerated at points, but real life can be stranger than fiction so not a deal breaker.

It fun how he can use mythology to manipulate people and give powers based off that mythology. Lincoln is a vampire hunter which should tell you what you’re looking for.

His deception and ability to weave stories to fool the world is the best part and the conflict between real world politics and mythological entities/ people with mythical powers is quite interesting even if most of them are underdogs who want to overthrow the powerful people of the world.

3.8 - 4 stars. Above average and well written overall.

I like the premise but I really wish the world wasn’t a parallel of Earth. I have no desire to read about real life politics in a novel.

It could have so much more interesting, for me at least

This is a leftist political novel about America written by a Chinese person
I literally burst out laughing when I was reading this on wtr a few months back
There's a parody of Newsom called "Newland" who's competant and Trump who keeps denying the supernatural happenings calling for deportation every scene he appears in even when literal demons are appearing
There were only several dozen chapters back then, I wonder what the Author has cooked up since
