In her third year living in this steampunk world, Ciel gained the ability to simulate both the past and the future.

These simulations turned into a game where she could act without restraint, and after countless trials, real life became a replica she could navigate as though speedrunning it.

Churches, potions, mutations, the Old Gods, witches, sealed artifacts… none of these have anything to do with Ciel. She’s just an ordinary girl who wishes for a peaceful life.

She just happens to be particularly skilled at snuffing out danger before it even begins. Collapse

the quality of this novel was not high, but after initial city it dropped so much lower. Like 3/10. I "love" rushed time travelling shenanigans which ruins the novel plot. Guess what i've read before? Gospel of Blood, FMC novel that ends up with time travelling ending. Holy f#ck am i stuck in a time loop?
    the ending is absolute ass.
if you like low quality yuri slop with zero thoughts put behind it i guess you could read it.

First is not a bad novel but its so heavily inspired of Lotm that my as well be a spinoff, that would be a good thing if somehow preserve the quality of Lotm but its lacking in:
Wants to translate Lotm background to skim in the world building
    The power system is underdeveloped
Rapid pace of action with a contrast of lacking emotional development if any change at all (psychopatic tendencies of the wahoo)
Nothing against a female centric take but all male are background characters or villains with little to no depth

it takes from a really good stablished universe and downgrade it a lot and to fair from very good/ good/ above average still makes it worth it if you really liked the original source.
    your choice

    Read 179 chapters.
Enjoyed novel quite a bit, but it became tiring. There are a lot of flaws:
1)The worldbuilding is heavily lacking. Author basically copied most surface level of United Kingdom from victorian era and put it here(you will even see Irish Famine). But it's not as endearing and good written as in LOTM(an entire volume of 240 chapters were spent to build up the world with the smallest details like pricing of the food, rent et cetera). The churches are uninteresting and there is no solid doctrines about them. Overall very boring and uninteresting.
2)Powersystem in gereral just bad. It's basically copied LOTM on the most surface level without any interesting quirks. Most pathways don't even have explanation for their power and you are left wondering what exactly does this path do???
3)Characters are as 1 dimensional as possible(80% are also females). You have shy but kind girl, fanatic pervert loli et cetera. They don't really have any depth besides couple of quirks. That also includes MC(her personality changes from pathway to pathway, but i don't count it as any sort of meaningful/interesting development because it's just outside influence). No depth, no philosophy of any sort, no backstory. I also didn't noticed it at first but you will see a lot of praising of MC "ciel is so mysteries ciel is so smart". It becomes very annoying considering that she's system merchant
4)Romance. Romance.... It's not as bad as er gen tier of romance, but it's still feels very forceful. Very much dislike this part.
5)antagonists . There are not even a characters, better describe them as "imminent threat that ciel needs to beat in a simulation".

This novel is another lotm inspired work. This pretty much clear from the very beginning. The world building is heavily inspired by lotm. The power system is a modified lotm potion system. However, even with the amount of inspiration it takes from lotm, it sill has it's own unique in the cheat system that the mc has and the characters.
    Pros:
    1. The system is very interesting and mysterious. It's very different from other simulation systems and it has abilities that make it op but it is handled well. Another good thing about this system is that it leads the mc to explore other paths in the power system.
    2. The Mc clearly defines a line between the simulations and reality. She doesn't treat simulations as reality and thus doesn't let morality and sentiment hold her back. This is unique from all the other simulation type stories I have read where the mc makes it harder for themselves by treating simulation like reality. Of course the mc still has bottomline. This pro is very subjective.

    Cons:
    1. There is constant tension in the story with 0 breaks. After one threat is dealt with another immediately comes up which is just horrendous. The constant enemies and threats just kill the tension of the story after a while which makes it boring. It is also completely unrealistic in world. The Mc actively looked for the supernatural but never found anything but immediately after the story starts she constantly gets involved in the 3 different supernatural events in a time span of a couple of days. It's too unrealistic. It also ruins the pace because the author decided that all threats need a time limit of a few days. So from the beginning of the novel it hasn't even been a week in reality in 76 chapters but the mc somehow had 3 supernatural crises when she couldn't find a hint of supernatural powers in 3 full years.

    2. The powersystem feels underdeveloped. A lot of info is implied and never fully explained. It feels like the novel assumes you already know about something similar and will fill in the blanks on your own. There Is also adjacent, switchable pathways in this system like lotm but adjacent paths are sometimes just identical. It usually feels like they are the same pathway but with different ideologies and methods of digestion. The mc's first path for example has the same powers as its adjacent path, at least until chapter 76.

    3. There is an extreme ratio of female characters to male characters. Pretty much every relevant character is female. The only somewhat relevant male characters were antagonists. Idk if this is because it's Yuri or the author is simply biased towards writing female characters for whatever reason.

    4. Simulation novels can be complicate to write since it's easy to confuse things that happened in Sims with reality, so plot holes are easily created. This novel also falls into that pitfall. There is at least 1 case where a retcon happens or something is forgotten.

    5. The mc's motivation is lacking and very cliche. It feels like the author couldn't think of something interesting and decided on a peaceful life without much thought. It doesn't really fit the story.

Outside of these pros and cons, nothing else really stood out to me as particularly good or bad. The side characters are pretty 1 dimensional at times and seem ordinary for a web novel. The world building is also decent but not particularly noteworthy. The plot itself is somewhat interesting, although there are a few plot holes or retcons. Overall, this novel is pretty decent for what seems to be this author's first work based on the writing. 5-6/10

Read 100 more chapters. New rating is 4/10.
The main problem for me is the Yuri. Just like every other Chinese novel, the romance is just terrible. The love interest is pretty much obsessed with Mc and will do everything and anything for the mc, including sacrifice her life. All this while only knowing the mc for at most 20 days. Of course it wasn't a gradual progression to thus point. She was obsessed from day one and started acting brainwashed immediately. The Mc Is of course no better.
Add to this the constant harem vibes because every f#king relevant character is female and pretty much all males are presented negatively or are irrelevant. It makes the already bad romance seem shallower. U can ignore the romance early on but after chapter 138, it comes to forefront and completely changes the tone of the story.
If the pace was better and the relationship had more build up and time to mature it would have been better. In fact, this is the problem with all relationships in this novel. The author directly skips all build up and time needed to deepen the relationships and goes straight for the result. It makes the relationships feel fake and like plastic. The only genuine relationship with good foundation is the with the sister but she immediately gets sidelined and becomes irrelevant.

I read the translated 138 chapters + additional 20+ chapters mtl.

My rating: 6\10 (readable, but a lot of information noise)

I can't say much about yuri, but there is none in the first 167 chapters, at most light flirting, but it hasn't even gotten to kissing yet.

Let's get back to the story. The events are too intense. There is no respite between mini-arcs for mc to get used to his new powers, come up with different tricks with them. No, as soon as threat 1 is eliminated, threat 2 appears after it, and so on. MC seems to be constantly dodging bullets without a break, simultaneously gaining abilities.

So I read all the chapters avalaible. It's a great Lotm-like but sometimes I found it's a bit too similar to its main inspiration. Howewer I had more pleasure to read it that others Lotm-like (Dorothy's Grimoire, Whispering Verses, etc.) and I will surely, with great reluctance check the MTL. 6.5-7/10

The plot is interessant. I would say it's here that they are the most similarities to Lotm in the general ideas but the way to do it is different.

The cheat is a simulator so it's more a kind of timeloop / simulation puzzle what is interessant because compared to others of this genre here the possiblities to really loose and die isis more likely to happen. Cheat has some rare and more complexes fefatures that the average simulation type.

MC doen'st hesitate to kill from the start, is completely indifferent in the loop. It's agreable because she can apprehend and explore way more weird and awful kind of plan as she doesn't really care to do "evil" things in simulation that she won't do in the real world.

Romance doesn't derange me (as long it's not Er Gen) and for the 138 (264 divised) chapters it's only flirts but the two doesn't even realise it. Maybe it will be a harem there's at least two other potentials girls aside the main one but doesn't seem from the tags.

All in all, it's an enjoyable read, but not on the level of the Great Works. There were a few times when I found it very funny and otherwise enjoyable enough to keep going. But the novel takes a long time to develop. The characters are for the most part rather anecdotic apart from the main cast who their development is slow too. But they have different personnalities and goals at least. Author suceed very well to show various facets of the same characters depending on how MC meets them and there is a lot of unkwon for the moment.

This is nicely done! For those looking for a pleasant, entertaining Simulation with Lotm-like aspects ( Lovecraftian horrors, Evils Gods, Mysteries, Esoteric etc.) and occasional humour. Have a nice day!

So I read all the raws (306) and now I rate 8/10. It takes times but Author succeed to explore different directions that Lotm. Yeap there is yuri but not harem.
      .

We finally have some grat and interesting antagonist, characters are developped and the plot evolve. I recommend for Lotm, timeloop and simulation readers.

For reference which chapter number did the romance really get going? Still haven’t gotten there.

One thing I really like about the story as well is the way the author write the protagonist’s personality, which can drastically change on a temporary basis depending on which path of progression. I feel like it’s something you don’t see too often.

if I good remember. I hope the yuri doesn't discourage you to read because honestly it's rare that we see "love interaction" between them and serve as support to MC the rare times she wants a pause.

Anyway have a nice day :)

From what I can tell, there is, but it takes quite a long time to get to it really. I’m around 130 ish chapters in and still nothing substantial. So you could give it a shot and not have to worry about it for a good portion of you happen to dislike yuri and if you do like the story you might continue.
