Overall, I’d give this novel a 8.5/10. Only reason I wouldn’t go higher is because the ending was atrocious, like criminally bad.

Plot:
The plot is a bit generic, but that’s not really where this novel shines. In this novel, it’s pretty much the characters that make the novel good. Unfortunately, you can really tell towards the end that the author ran out of ideas and the same plot point was basically ran twice to make up chapters before the author rushed the ending… like ALOT. There were probably a few hundred more chapters of content before any satisfactory ending would take place but it was rushed into a single chapter.

Characters:
Honestly, the main character isn’t too interesting, the supporting characters are what really made it for me. I love the way that each character had a unique way of going crazy and it’s funny when the supporting characters start to go crazy and attack the antagonist. Especially the old ancestor of his sect, he really made the novel shine for a bit.

Writing:
The emotional scenes are really well written and actually made me tear up. The novel is overall pretty well written too, no major plot holes I spotted while casually reading. The translation is done well too, you don’t have to master the Dao of the MLT in order the read it.

I started reading because of the plot, but as all the characters were changed by the truth, it became difficult to bear the repetitiveness and boredom.Besides the fact that they all kind of got a pass for going crazy with guilt, none of them would be deservedly punished or attacked in the story... And no, going crazy is not punishment enough! I hated these crazy former brothers and sisters of the protagonist more than the supposed villain of the story we are reading and who is actually the true protagonist of the story within the story I don't like harem, but it seems to be every young Chinese man's fantasy because most of the stories here on the site are harem!

Discard any other review. Here is what I wish i m told before reading.
The plot is fine and novel. Lots of laughs and you can definitely enjoy it.
However the author rushed the end. Like RUSHED the kind of you condense 200 plus chapters into a few lines of words.
