This is a good trashy read if you're not too sensitive about the powers of the obsession gu. However, once the MC becomes an immortal it turns to absolute trash.
1) No more character development even for the MC.
2) The author is clearly no longer interested writing the story. He's just adding trashy chapters.
3) The story now constitutes an explanation of his newly evolved immortal powers which he rarely uses, a chapter long rundown of the MC's system's functions everytime he breaks through after 5000 years, sex with his dao companions, and the experiences of new disciples of the Xuanhuan sect (which is usually 'surprise our sect master is so powerful at a very young age it's unimaginable' EVERY DAMN TIME.)
4) And the occasional plot line where the MC meets and adds a new dao companion.
5) At the immortal level the MC is so low key that potential powerful enemies don't know he exists and so OP enemies at his level can't survive a single move, so the story has lost its interesting factor and it doesn't look like anything will change. After all this was just a trashy good read, like other trashy novels it's only going to get worse.

So unless you're looking for a trashy read don't bother with this one. The clear lack of originality will only harm your dao heart.

Hmm. After reading the comments, I realized that people's perceptions are quite subjective, no matter how they try to be objective. So it makes sense to read them only if you want to avoid something specific, the drama is so much like glass, Ntr, complete idiocy or something like that.
