Didn't realize the site added mtl for this novel.
Just so you all know, the raws of this novel stop at 1005 chapters, after which there is a chapter named
    test

    With this being its content
This book has been removed from shelves for unknown reasons...

I did double cross the site i was reading from with multiple others, they all had this same chapter.

u can check the kingdom building tag for list, dont really know what high tier is XD

depends on taste there are historical types and fantasy. Im not much of a fan for any novels set on earth tbh..
the most popular is release that witch and it's a good read, my fave is sword of dawn.
Some good ones i can think right now, tales of reincarnated lord, city of sin, world online, also chronicles of primordial wars is sort of different but definitely a quality novel imo

i think its more like tales of reincarnated lord instead of rtw..

rtw has witches at early stages which is a big advantage and a major difference with the others..
TORL is in a different universe with different constants, so its much harder to advance tech..

while this novel is set in a more advance timeline.. there are already glassware and magnifying glasses in this novel.. and an existing education system like royal academies..
the starting point is also much richer with multiple villages and a port..

most ships are oar driven with sails like the vikings and galleys..
and its nice that the story didn't skip directly to steel ships judging by the title.. mc started with full sail ships which is kinda awesome, also mc is not the first to have this idea, some passionate ship builders are already experimenting but no support..

it feels fast pace at the beginning, but thats mainly because the world is already at a more advance stage..
i feel like the approach of novel is more realistic in terms of tech since it takes a step by step approach instead of directly skipping tech like with the steam engine being not yet feasible..

also i was impressed when a seemingly earth based weapon appeared not made by the mc..
apparently a tech from a fallen empire..
tho its more likely made by the natives of this world, but some familiar terms which might just be translation issue and the resemblance made me speculate its origin..

the mc also mention in passing his ambition for the stars which would be amazing if it ever reach that point, one of the reason i like sword of dawn, the mc in that one basically became a remnant satellite for thousand of years in the beginning..
tho it will probably take a long time to reach that point and only mentioned once..

so far the story is quite good.. the storytelling and narration is also with enough details, especially the battles, it was not disappointing imo..
its a good read and i dont really see any glaring issues yet.. the only problem is the limited chapters available and the raws being slow as well..
i can only hope for the best really kef

if u are skeptical, you can try reading chapter 210 until the first half of 211..
its not really much of a spoiler imo..
and if u don't want to be spoiled, maybe try reaching until that point,.

i think it perfectly shows the mc's mindset as well as the author.. especially towards the end of the chapter which shows mc thoughts on the reliance of magic, quite interesting

Cheap knockoff of Release the witch.

    Edit(s):
    Adding on,
I will say that some aspects are looking better than Release The Witch, but there are still flaws that make me put this below RTW. One of them being MC himself.
MC is so inconsistent, his intellect fluctuates with the plot, while he can be mature and smart at times, he also becomes an infuriatingly naïve idiot, and then his whining and banging the desk oh ffs it ruins whatever image he built up till then. MC looks exactly like a 3rd rate idiot politician from the local shows at my place. troll78 He's also a dense mfker.

Why I say this is a RTW copy ? Because as your read you can see the direct similarities, this is like an alternate timeline with similar key events, but different fundamental laws of the world (ig?). I estimate this to have even similar chapter count as RTW, now it's only~700 but it could go beyond 1k easily, and stop at ~1.3k (unless author gets bored). And who knows, this could also come out as better than RTW in those coming chapters. well... on reading further this may end within 1K

Also who tf is on that cover, in the 650 chapters I've read there's only like 1 girl who fit the characteristics, but she's a side character with not much role or presence so far. And for her to get a gun like in the cover is just impossible at this point oru2x

From what I remember, yes, though it's subtle until the later chapters...
MC is extremely dense towards the
, though this ship is more natural imo
        And towards the
        , it's forced and cringe.

It's a good read if you like kingdom building. I've been following this in the chinese website but stopped reading it since the author didn't post any new chapter for a long time until a month or two back.

Iirc the progression is not really fast, just normal (ok maybe at not so normal speed), at chapter 645 they just circumnavigated the whole world and you can really see the world of the book is really vast. For 600+ chapters the MC is still in his territory + some captured enemy noble lands and mergers but with already a vast trade network for a viscountcy, and he's actually learning how to become a "politician". So at first he will be naive. You can actually see this when he postponed some policies because of "something" then some subordinates will do shitty things that will make him angry, which of course a way to teach him how to become a lord.

    Sorry for bad grammar gloom

I read this before, it's actually quite decent (though the protagonist is naive, and the author seems to be lazy when writing dialogues). The protagonist recreates other weapons that used gunpowder in this fantasy world and tries to form an industrial society because in their noble territory it's just a title - they don't own a fiefdom. It's like 'Release That Witch,' because here the theocracy really holds so much authority that even that duke or king can be labeled as a heretic if they want, so they also persecute wizards and other races.

The story still revolves around the kingdom where the world is really big and full of different races. Give it a try if you like a kingdom-building romance, where the protagonist is using modern knowledge as an advantage. I don't remember it having a system, but I think his 'golden finger' is more like a lineage.

    Rank B-

Obs: It's extremely tiring to read at more than 600chps
