Yang Qing sighed as he gazed upon the black building that stood tall piercing the skies above with an inviolable aura around it.

"The Order sure is black-hearted," he angrily thought as he made his way into the building begrudgingly.

The building could be considered his home away from home and a source of endless grief for him due to its unforgiving working hours.

The building housed the courtrooms of the Cultivation Order Society, an organization founded to maintain a semblance of order in the ruthless cultivation world of the southern continent who if left to their own devices would sink the whole continent to the ground.

Due to how impetuous cultivators were, the cases never stop.

"Yi Jie, what do we have today?"

"Two cultivators at the palace realm fought over a treasure and destroyed half of the territory of the blue deer kingdom in their fight,
A rogue cultivator is suing the owner of the falling meteor blacksmith shop for selling him a faulty saber that keeps attracting lightning tribulations.

A cultivator suffering from pill poisoning is blaming it on the white hilltop restaurant as he suspects they are feeding their spirit beasts pills to make them bigger and fatter.

And the last case is 500 families are suing a cultivator by the name of Ren Fu for being negligent as a husband and a father whilst also pilfering their resources dry as he moves from place to place."

Awkward silence ensues...

Join me as we follow Yang Qing in his role as a judge in the Cultivation Order Society with cases and troubles that never seem to end.

Fair warning the story has multiple POVs.

I will also be re-editing the first 50 chapters, since they were missing a few things, one of them being commas and had a tad bit info dumps that I'll also be editing out. Thanks to the readers who pointed it out. I don't know how I missed it. For new readers, please don't shy away from reading, as lovers of wuxia we have all sampled MTL Dao at some point. If you can survive that, this won't be hard at all haha.

Re-edited chapter (8/50). Collapse

Do not bother with this novel. The genre isn't Slice of Life, it is "Filler".

Do not be confused by number of chapters — divide it by 10 and you will get the number of actual story chapters so far.

The "chapters" themselves aren't small, but 90% of each consists of filler exposition, stories of filler characters and details of one-off cultivation arts, practiced by said characters. A random side-character executed via death duel received 2 chapters of background exposition — more than MC!

When I dropped the novel, which was after 500+ chapters, the time within it has advanced by 2.5 weeks. There is no coherent plot. Even overarching "plot" about conflict between Order and the rest of the southern continent is just glorified filler. Every arc is a filler arc. The exposition contains excruciatingly detailed descriptions of MC grooming himself, buying groceries and eating with friends, all of which looks relevant but isn't.

I concur, that this novel will never be finished. If you are tempted to read it, just watch Santa Barbara or a similar TV drama — this novel would make them appear fast-paced action movies in comparison.

I really enjoy this novel but the lvl of expostion sometimes can be frustrating. Im reading a case right now there are four groups involced from the same empire. this case isnt part of the main storyline. We start off getting the whole history of the empire which lasts quite a few chapters. then we get to the first group of people being sentenced. this first group gets accused normal chapter length. then we get the first witness, he gets two to three super detailled chapters, then we get the medical evidence which gets super detailled 2 chapters then we get another witness who gets another 2 chapters. and these chapters arent short their super detailled. so instead of moving on with the story we get less than 2 chapters of story and like 8 chapters of pure expostion. I love the worldbuilding aspect of this novel but at the same time you lose a coherent storyline when u get lost in the details

Hello everyone, I have some questions about this work, they said that the initial pace of the work is slow, it was 200 chapters equivalent to a week, and I would like to know if this pace remains the same or increases in speed? I would also like, if possible, a summary of the first week in case the pace improves, I wanted to have a better idea of where I am getting involved.
    sorry for any grammatical errors

Overdetailed novel, like everyone else says alot of detail info thats really relevant but with that in mind I really do enjoy this novel, the characters are actual people not tropes, they are fully fleshed out people, not just the mc or his friends but even some character who are only in the novel for 3 chapters. Closest book to compare this to is Lord of the Rings, with its prose.

This novel is not the top like LOTM but it’s above average the thing about these webnovel cultivation novels is the amount of info dumps just like Paragon of Sins the premise of the initial plot it Great maybe execution was not up to standard’s of my expectations.

The initial plot revolves around MCs promotion in a wee.
Now guess how many chapters until we get to promotion ceremony?
It’s 246 chapters but until then they are a lot of sub plots.
I dropped at chapter 279 because I couldn’t take with foreshadowing and unfocused direction .The novel will never really finish it’s been a week in the novel but a 200 plus chapters unless they have a time skip. It’s similar to Grand Ancestral Bloodlines in the aspect of not having a clear plot and focus on too much world building. My main issue would the pacing of the story.

However I admit I might’ve been to Critical because it’s slice of live.

The story was nice, but the overarching plot is annoying. Around ch 200 you get this dude commenting on how a little guy got tagged with a tracker, and if they shut cut all ties, then they sit around saying they'll destroy the Order. There's another guy sitting around saying maybe they should go for another sect, but the first one says they go after the order because they're stronger..what kind of motivation even is that. The whole thing gives https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheOmniscientCouncilOfVagueness vibes. Overall a letdown, author should've just stuck with a casual approach or a normal xianxia situation, not some "destroying sects to steal fortune" or whatever nonsense the order needs to be stronger for

Tried reading this and it was okay if you wanna turn your brain off but I'm worried you won't be able to turn it back on.

Sub-par writing, main character is kinda pathetic, sorta weird meandering, unfocused plot with heavy infodumps at the start that might be interesting if the writing was good, but it really ain't? Interesting premise, poor execution, though I confess I couldn't read too far into it so maybe the content improves.

A good novel, but even though a lot of stuff happens it barely feels as we are getting anywhere, for the duration of the 200 chapter, not even a week has gone by in the novel.
