If you're here for the evil protagonist tag, like I was, then save your time and don't bother reading this.

The only evil thing he did was at the start when he was going to sacrifice his wife and unborn child for power, after that it's as if the author completely forgot about it and decided to write the mc to be more of a good guy.

Great novel so far unfortunately it's on hiatus so long and i can't say how it will be after if it will.
As evil mc enjoyer i didn't even notice flaws. For me true evil mc + logical story + sort of unique power system enough. Let me say i'm biased and my words about pros and cons will be totally subjective so i don't write it.

Some points about other comments:
1) Mc sacrifice his wife but he planned it long time ago. For him she just ticket to political core of his clan and he don't even know about their child. He still evil but not that 'sacrifice of unborn child' level or at least he does it unintentionally in first chapters.
2) It's really slow pace but it's not because plot stops and author put tons of fillers but it's because author want set up world and characters. As good evil guy mc plans alot and this plans need time also.
3) Mc will be cripple up to 25 chap. But after healing he don't get power immediately. Moreover this story not about battle power but about power of intelligence so you shouldn't wait mc fight straight like other mcs (he still can sometimes tho).

Really good, slow start as MC gets use to his new surroundings.

seems like the bad reviews r from the impatient guys, currently at chapter 240 and i wud say this is currently one of my favorites, slow paced but the mc, ways he expands his influence, develops his power, it is worth a try. BUT it isn't for those who want a fast paced novel

HOLY SHIT, MY GOD, I finally found another novel with an MC with enough evil like the Legendary Fang Yuan...HOLY THANK YOU AUTHOR!!!

Very slow plot but not bad. I think a lot of these bad reviews are because he isn't even able to get out of bed until chapter 20+ and I only hung in there due to morbid curiosity. The author does use that time to get us familiar with his thought processes as well as the main characters and his new circumstances so it's not too bad.

It's got a ruthless protagonist obsessed with power but given the slowness of the plot, up to ~200 he finally gets out of bed, does a bit of mad scientist, does a little political move, has a bit of transmigrator knowledge usage and that's about it. He's not stupid nor puppy-kicking evil and has a decent relationship with his family so there are actual interpersonal interactions too. There is almost no tension whatsoever though as so far he's just steamrolled everything.

Power system is interesting, there's a mana system in his old world, a predefined "Gift" system in the new one and a link to "hell energy" in both (that only he knows in the 2nd). There are also hints of future world- or plane-hopping being perfectly viable. He also can "corrupt" things with hell energy which he's still experimenting with.

I wish I'd seen this when it had 1000+ chapters because there are a lot of interesting things that could happen but it's sooo slowwwww.

This is hands down one of the most boring book I've ever read. Almost 30 chapters in and mc is still crippled and can't do anything.
