Definition of slow updates. This novel is a mistake, no disrespect to Panic

Honestly, this novel is not that bad, but it's not for everyone. If you don't like an entirely suspenseless, slice-of-life type story with a protagonist so overpowered that he can defeat all his opponents with just one or two strikes, then this novel is probably not for you.

I came for the "Hiding True Abilities" tag 'cause for me, that's the only way a story with an overpowered protagonist could be moderately interesting. But the MC hides his strength in a half-assed way, for the people around him soon figure out how strong and talented he is. After that, the story becomes monotonous. Here are the summed up key concepts:

THE MC: As you've probably guessed from the blurb, this dude is ten times more cautious than Seiya Ryuuguuin and a hundred times more afraid of death than Bai Xiaochun. He has peerless charm, peerless talent, and peerless techniques, but all he does is sit on his ass and cultivate for hundreds of years. He is very timid, selfish, and a hypocrite; he acts all cool and righteous, but secretly shameless. He isn't romantic, perverted, or lustful but somehow possessive. He goes from "Women are temporary, only Martial Dao is eternal; love is a weakness; lust is the bane of all heroes...bla...bla...." to "They are my dao companions; I'll protect them; how dare you have thoughts about my woman! Even though I'm too scared to leave my cave and face you, I can still curse you to death...." pretty fast.

THE SYSTEM: Way too omnipotent. Doesn't need any "fuel". Gives the MC easy choices and missions, which he can complete without breaking a sweat, and all kinds of priceless techniques, treasures, and artifacts drop on his lap. It can pry onto favorability, hatred or deep secrets of others; warn him about all types of dangers that he or anyone he knows of is facing. So, MC is like, "Why do I have to go out and seek fortuitous encounters when I have such an omnipotent system?" You gotta admit he has a point.

WRITING_STYLE: Probably the best thing about this novel. The writing is fluent with a comedic undertone that is easy to get into. The translation is also decent. There are no long-ass paragraphs with large info dumps in every chapter. The story, tho boring, seems well thought-out. The dialogues are well organized, unlike most of those Korean novels where you have to exhaust every last one of your brain cells and solve some complex mathematical equations just to figure out who is saying what.

PLOT: The first few chapters are interesting, but after the MC reveals his strength to his sect, the plot becomes boring and repetitive. Here is how it goes:
> MC cultivates for 10-20 years sitting within his cave.
> MC takes in a disciple and brainwashes them with his BS ideology.
> Some clingy woman comes and clings to him for some time.
> Some enemy comes and "disturbs" his cultivation.
> MC becomes scared and wonders whether he should run away or not.
> MC fights his enemy in a system simulation first.
> MC keeps fighting in SS until he can defeat his enemy with one strike.
> MC comes out of his cave and defeats his enemy with one strike IRL.
> MC goes back to his cave.
> Repeat.

HAREM: Overpowered male protagonists usually have harems full of useless pretty faces. This one is no different. MC's charm is peerless, and his handsomeness is unrivaled. Many of his love interests act like textbook gold-diggers; even though they don't like MC's timid personality, they first get close to him for his good looks, and after finding out that he has peerless talent and strength to boot, they keep clinging to him no matter what. You have to reach the zenith level of lifelessness to call any of this sh*t 'romance'. So far I've read, there's one girl who hasn't immediately fallen for him and is playing hard to get. The author's probably aiming for a 'slow romance' subplot. But this 'slow burn' turned out to be Internet Explorer level slow.
Btw, the author of this novel likes to keep things "family-friendly", so he generously skips all the 'intimate' moments MC shares with his women, so that you can enjoy this novel together with your family and relatives. The hints are so subtle that you have to read between the lines to notice that anything even happened.

I don't know whether it gets better afterwards or not, but if I don't find a novel intriguing after reading 130+ chapters, then even if it has the potential to be the best web novel I've ever read, I still don't think it's worth continuing. But that's just my opinion.

So.... I've been teading the comments... apparently this novel is getting a manhua.... Good luck to you guys. Instead of waiting for an update per day wait a weekor a few days(maybe every 3 days or so?) for a new chapter of..... HJ cultivating and staying in a cave..... reading emails.

No offense for the novel I like it too just.... good luck on the manhua reaching 600 chaps.....
