Chapter 2545: The Last Goodbye, Goodbye Quinn Talen

Fifteen years had passed since the day Quinn had said his farewells to his family. The sun was shining brightly on the large university campus, where students bustled from one area to the next. At the very top of the campus, there was a black-haired young boy with curly hair, lying back and staring up at the sky while tapping his feet to the rhythm of his music.

"Galen!" a voice shouted. "Galen, where are you? Come on, hurry up, or we're going to be late!"

The voice continued to shout, and a dark-skinned curly-haired woman eventually found him. When she approached him, she ripped the headphones right out from his ears.

"Hey, what are you doing here, Minny?" Galen asked.

"What am I doing here?" she replied, fists by her side. "I'm here to come get you. What are you even wearing a white shirt for? You need to wear black, you know that, right? Ah, we don't even have time; we have to get out of here now, or we're going to be late."

Galen took the headphones back and placed them in his trouser pocket. His face didn't look as joyous as it did before as he looked down.

"I don't want to wear black. It's not like we're going to a funeral or anything," Galen replied.

Minny didn't know what to say to that; it hurt her heart as well, and before she knew it, a tear was running down her face. She quickly wiped it away.

"It's too late to get changed anyway; let's just get out of here and go," Minny said as she grabbed Galen's hand and started to lead him.

As she did, Galen twirled his finger, and a dark shadow appeared. Right in front of them, a shadow portal opened up, and the two of them were suddenly on the ground.

"You know it annoys me every time you use that power?" Minny said.

"Well, you said we were going to be late."

Galen had never lost his powers that day for some reason, unlike Minny. It was unclear why, although Quinn had a theory, one that he told Galen to keep a secret. The fact that he was special compared to others.

Although all of the power that Immortui had given to others disappeared, this wasn't the case for celestial energy. Peter and Minny both still had celestial energy within them. However, Quinn had made it clear that he was different, and it might have been the reason why he had kept his powers as well. But he should never let others know the difference in him. That, unlike Minny, who just had celestial powers, he was a Celestial.

Using his powers, they got in a small spaceship and were on their way. They flew far from home and eventually picked up their mother, Layla. Just like Minny, she too was wearing a completely black dress and a veil that covered her face. Her hands and face were covered in wrinkles. She had grown a lot older, and she was close to that of a 70-year-old woman; the Qi in her body wasn't doing much to help her. It seemed that her time as Hannya had an effect on her. It wasn't just her, but this was the same for other vampires. Those that had young appearances but had already lived a long time were close to their end as a vampire, and the same thing was happening to Layla.

The three of them got on the spaceship, and they were off. They flew through space, and on the way, they said next to nothing to each other.

Finally, they landed, and when they did, they had entered what was now considered a historic site: the vampire settlement. It had been rebuilt, but no one lived here anymore, and it was a site that was restricted from normal visitors. Only a few could come and go.

Walking, they headed to the main castle, but rather than entering the main hall, they descended down the steps, deep and dark, to the underground vampire tombs.

When they finally reached the bottom, they could see him; they could see Quinn standing there, looking the same as he had done, the same as he always did. Instantly, Layla started to sob and break down in tears.

Minny quickly went to grab her, giving her a hug. "It's okay, Mum, it's okay, we will still be with you."

Immediately going from one side of the room to the other, Quinn was there. He placed his hand, lifting up her veil and looking right into her eyes and face.

"You look just as beautiful as the first day I met you," Quinn said with a large smile. n---/-.-.--//1..n

"Why, Quinn... why do you have to do this?" Layla sobbed.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for my selfish request, but I wanted to see my family one last time," Quinn replied. "It was the only option I could think of. If I lived on and saw you get sick or hurt, I wouldn't be able to help myself; I would turn you in a heartbeat when I know it's wrong. So the only choice I have now is to go into eternal slumber before that even happens. I'm sorry for being selfish, and I'm sorry for going before all of you. The time I spent with you all, the last moments of my life, were the best that I ever experienced."

Quinn then leaned in, pressing his lips against Layla's. For a moment, he thought about biting her, but he knew it was for the best that he didn't. As he pulled away and walked away, he had already informed his friends; he had already said goodbyes to them. If he had them all here, it would have been too much for him. He would have never wanted to leave; he would have never wanted his story to end. But all good things had to come to an end.

"Minny, look after your idiot brother!" Quinn said. "And Galen, stop being a playboy and settle down with someone nice. It would be good to keep the Talen bloodline going."

Cutting his finger, a drop of blood landed on the contraption below. It started to twist and turn as it rose up from the ground. Then he took a step inside, turning toward his family.

"I love you all," Quinn said, as he closed his eyes.

There was one more thing Vincent had taught him that day: how a vampire was to go into eternal slumber. The technique used to completely stop one's heart. Pulling all of the aura out from the heart, from the bloodstone, eventually, one's life would come to an end.

While doing this, Quinn started to think. There were a few things that always bugged him, somethings he had never been able to figure out. One was the fact that he was never able to find Ray. No one had seen him; no one had known where he had gone or what he had done.

There were also no visits. There was a reason why Quinn wanted to visit him, and that was because of the second reason. In his system, there was still one quest:

[Find out about the Talen Family.]

"No matter what I did, that quest was never completed," Quinn said. "But it doesn't matter. I can finally rest. Good luck to my future family; I hope your life is at least a little less complex than mine."

Outside the tomb, Layla, Galen, and Minny had stayed there for almost an entire day. In the end, the children were too worried about their mother's health that they had to force her to leave.

With that, the tomb was finally clear, empty, and a couple of days later, the sound of footsteps were heard as they walked down toward the tomb. Eventually, the pair of footsteps stopped just short.

"Do you think this will be the end for him?" a male's voice asked.

"You know it's not; you were the one that placed that Quest on him in the first place," Bliss replied. "The quest of the Talen family is still not complete. For now, he can rest, but he will be needed. The Quest of the Talen family needs to be completed, isn't that right, Richard?"

The End of the My Vampire System Series 31/10/2023

IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S NOTE ABOUT THE FUTURE.

First, before I tell you what is in store next for the series, I have to say thank you to everyone who has read this far. For those who joined from the beginning and those who have recently joined. This is a series that I will never forget for as long as I live, and it has only become so special because all of you have been willing to support the series. So thank you, thank you so much for allowing me to become a full-time author and write the story the way I wanted to.

Below is very important information!

As you can tell, this is not the End Of The Talen Series, as I call it, and below, a timeline of works will explain the Talen Series in full!

My Dragon System (The Start of the Talen series) (Completed + Has a webtoon)

My Werewolf System (Ongoing)

New Book (To be announced) (Not yet Written)

My Vampire System (Completed + Webtoon is on the way)

Final Book in Series (To be written)

As you can see, the Talen series is composed of five separate stories, with two more books planned. One book, which will be placed in between the timeline of My Werewolf System and My Vampire System, and the Final book that will answer the Talen Family quest.

At the moment, I am currently writing Dark Magus Returns, which is my main series and focus for the time being, along with My Werewolf System. So the new Talen books will begin after My Werewolf system ends.

It would be a large help if everyone can support my series, Dark Magus Returns, with golden tickets, power stones, whatever you can. The support will allow me to continue being a full-time author and to write more beautiful stories for all of you to enjoy.

Again, thank you all for sticking till the very end of My Vampire System, and I look forward to seeing you in Dark Magus Returns.

    2546: I miss you, father…

    «Galen, we can't keep meeting like this.»

The old man furrowed his eyebrows and rubbed the top of his wrinkly head back and forth. If he had any hair, he would have pulled it out by now.

«A factory completely destroyed, a residential building burnt to a crisp. Several ongoing lawsuits, victims claiming injuries of broken arms, noses, and who knows what!» — the man shouted as he moved countless screens that were floating off in the air to the side.

All of them were holographic reports, and he had only gone through the first few.

They were the number of reports that Captain Ace had, all linked to the one individual in front of him.

«We even have a report of you calling a five-year-old boy, Dalki shit,» — Captain Ace sighed.

Immediately Galen sat upright in his seat and pointed at Ace.

«In my defense, that kid was a little shit.»

Right after saying his defense, Galen went back to twirling his curly hair with his finger.

It was quite clear it wasn't the first meeting between Galen and the captain. Both of them were wearing the same uniform: mostly black, quite fitting with a buttoned-up jacket, and a red trim on the outside.

The only difference between the two uniforms was that the captain had large shoulder pads and red stripes going down the side.

«Galen, look, you're a great asset, and you're a powerful fighter. There are plenty of times that you've saved the squad from danger.»

Ace sighed, worried that his words weren't even going to get through as this was already the fifth time since they had started working together.

«You have to understand your duty. We serve and protect. We are the special police force that deals with the rampant ability users.»

«We keep the peace, and we are role models to the countless people out there. Which means not every situation we get involved in needs to lead to violence.»

The captain took another pause there, and he stopped the next words from coming out of his mouth for a moment before going with it anyway.

«Think about what your father would say…»

Immediately Galen stopped twirling his hair, and he sat upright in his seat, his head sunk slightly into his chest.

«I know… I know… I'm not like my father, and times are different now, things are much more peaceful. There's no need for me to use such force.»

After saying those words, Galen stood up and was ready to leave the office, but he turned around to look at the captain.

«With these people, sometimes they won't stop, they only know violence as an appropriate answer, otherwise they won't stop. And if you look at the reports carefully, you'll see that there wasn't a single individual who was harmed, at least, excluding the ones that didn't deserve it.»

With Galen saying his words, the door opened, and he continued walking, leaving the captain to sigh.

Ace lifted his head and looked at the report in front of him.

«Galen Talen, part of the family of Quinn Talen that saved mankind all that time ago. When I heard he was joining the order, I thought things would get easier around here, not harder.»

Ace started to look through the files, and as he did, he noticed that there were small comments, notes written by the general public.

«Despite all the chaos, we somehow managed to get out unharmed.»

«I saw him take a fireball for me.»

    «I think he's a true hero.»

These were the comments that had been written by the general public, and they didn't even know who Galen Talen was.

Galen used an alias in the force as Galen Balen.

Once Galen was outside, he tapped his wristwatch, and his clothes had a warping line appear through them. It had changed him out of his uniform, and in an instant he was wearing a casual black jacket with a white shirt, and a pair of black jeans along with boots.

Galen walked down the streets looking at the neon lights that shined on the ground, along with the floating vehicles above his head.

He continued forward, his mood sulky. Eventually, he looked up and stopped outside a large grand building. Floating holograms appeared all over the outside of the building.

It was the name of all of the restaurants and bars that were inside.

Eventually, heading inside, Galen was met in a lift.

    «Sparky's Restaurant,» — Galen said.

It appeared as if Galen's body was zapped, and before he knew it he had appeared right where he wanted to.

In front of him there were many diners already enjoying their food and grub. Small robots were delivering their food, while there were also waiters and such adding a personal touch.

Straight ahead, a glass window could be seen that went all around the restaurant, giving one the view of the entire city.

Eventually, Galen walked ahead until he had reached a table that was on the very edge, where a dark-skinned woman was seated.

«Galen!» — the woman said, standing up in her red dress, and immediately went to give Galen a big hug.

«It's been so long since I've seen you.»

«Same to you, Minny,» — Galen said as he gave her a kiss on the cheek and then pulled his chair out and sat down.

«You know, I always say the two of us should meet more often, it's a shame that we only seem to meet on this day, huh?» — Minny claimed.

Immediately Galen was playing with his fingertips and looked at the ground.

    «What's wrong?» — Minny said.

«Come on, you're thirty years old now, and you're still sulking like a little kid, did something happen at work?»

    «Yeah,» — Galen replied.

«But it's the usual stuff, it's just the captain, he brought up Dad, and he brought him up today of all days.»

Now Minny understood, it wasn't an easy day for her as well, and Galen had spotted a few things already, that there were two bottles of wine on the table, and the smell on her breath.

«How long has it been?» — Minny said as she swirled the wine in front of her.

    «Six years,» — Galen answered immediately.

«It's been six years since Dad went into eternal slumber.»

«Right… six years, things certainly have calmed down a lot,» — Minny replied.

«Anyway, why don't you tell me what happened, maybe it will be good to get it off your chest.»

Galen went on to tell Minny the events and the captain's complaints. About how during their cases they had claimed he had gone a little off the rails.

At least according to them, but in Galen's eyes some of these people were hardened criminals.

«Hey, you haven't been using them powers have you?» — Minny asked immediately.

    Galen shook his head.

«I haven't needed to, my own strength, and the shadow powers are enough. Thanks to Dad, you should know the world isn't what it was like before, maybe the captain is right and my type of justice or violence isn't needed.»

Eventually the two continued to eat and drink as they did every day on this day, the anniversary of Quinn Talen's eternal slumber.

They all remembered the details so well, and it was only a year after that, they had put to rest their mother Layla. When Minny thought about it, Galen's problems started to occur more so after their mother had passed away.

As it went later into the night, Minny eventually saw Galen wipe at his face. It pained her to see him like this.

    «I miss him,» — Galen said.

«I want to ask him for help, I want to ask him what to do. I want him to say that he's proud of me for what I've done, and show him my girlfriends, my exes, and tell him about my annoying bosses!»

«You can tell me!» — Minny said, trying to cheer her brother up.

Still, it didn't seem to work.

«You know I have these shadow powers, and the shadow link skill. It allows me to jump to anyone else in the entire universe who has the same shadow powers.»

«But I can't use them, Minny, there is no shadow link. There is no one in the universe that has these powers… I check every day, I check every damned day, hoping that one day when I go to use the shadow link, I'll be able to use it. Do you know why?»

    Minny nodded slowly.

«Because it means that Dad is awake again.»

The two continued to sit in silence again, until Minny eventually spoke.

«You know though, Dad being asleep is a good thing. Look at everyone around us, everyone enjoying their lives, maybe you don't remember much because you were a kid back then… but even though Dad was here, things weren't good, they were only good because of Dad.»

«If Dad is needed to wake up, it means that the world isn't in a good state any longer. I miss Dad too, I wish he would wake up as well… but it's good because Dad can rest. It's good that right now, the world doesn't need Quinn Talen.»

    —— —— ——

Out in a dark space where light and color seemingly didn't exist, there were two individuals standing next to each other.

    «It's time,» — a soft voice spoke.

    «Right.»

The man swung his hand, and an interface appeared.

At the same time, the person stood opposite; the end of her staff started to glow brightly, and then several glyphs on the floor started to light up, illuminating the whole area.

      2547: What purpose?

The sound of an alarm blaring at 8 AM had gone off for less than a second before a hand reached out and stopped it. It was less than a second, and it was always this way. Looking up, Galen stared at his apartment ceiling before eventually lifting his head off his bed.

His window shade turned from pitch black and flickered slowly like a tint that was wearing off, revealing the light inside his luxury apartment. Today was a Monday, and it was one of two days off that Galen had from the Order.

Meeting his sister, he had stayed up late last night drinking, and although he could enjoy the taste, there were no effects from the alcohol on his body. No headache, no pains, and he didn't even feel tired. It was the norm for him; this life had become the norm for him.

Getting up, Galen went through his routine, placing various devices on his mouth to clean his teeth while also talking to his house assistant.

The wage of being in the Order wouldn't usually allow a person to live in such a luxurious apartment, especially in the center of Green City, at least not one on Galen's level.

However, there was a lot left to Galen and Minny, being the descendants of the great Quinn. The world knew of his father's feats; he was taught in history books, but his disappearance wasn't quite recorded.

It was explained that he wanted a peaceful life and never appeared again, with no one knowing the date of his death but assumed that he had passed on.

There were really only a handful of people that knew, but in the six years after Quinn had passed, others that knew him had decided to do the same-past friends of Quinn who had the choice to continue living on but felt as if they had lived far too long.

All of them disappearing, Galen didn't understand his father or them, and as time went on he had fewer people to talk with. Regardless, a massive amount of wealth was given to him, and even if he didn't have that, there was always the option to go to the Green Family who practically controlled everything.

Military bases, countries, and a few planets outside of the one they were currently on.

Galen, telling them his name and them confirming his DNA, they would always treat him to whatever he needed, but he already had everything he could have.

The things that he did want — it was impossible, and his duty in the Order was the only thing that gave him slight purpose, which was why he hated days like these-days off.

«Switch everything off, I'm heading out for the day,» — Galen said as he pressed his watch, and his favorite clothes appeared: a black jacket, white shirt, boots, and jeans.

Right after, he headed to the apartment's underground car park, and there was a black levitating motorbike. Although it had no motor and ran off crystal energy, it also had no wheels since it could travel through - the air. The name was a keepsake from olden times.

Getting on the vehicle, Galen went off to ride through the city. When one was riding in the air, there were holographic borders one needed to follow. It acted like a highway for flying vehicles; otherwise, people would be crashing into each other all the time.

Whizzing through the city, Galen was going at fast speeds between the traffic. His mind filled with strange thoughts.

«Why can't I just be like Minny? She has a regular office job and is just enjoying things, right? Am I the only one that feels this way? Is there something wrong with me? Is it because I'm different?»

Galen didn't know the answer, and his thoughts were soon interrupted by what he could see up ahead. Up high, close to the high-rise buildings, he could see a spark in the air. Several sparks were going off, looking like thunder. But there were no clouds, and the lightning wasn't striking the ground either.

«The energy from that, I can feel it all the way from here, and what's happening right now… it can't be, can it?»

What Galen was seeing he had seen happen a few times on his tasks with the Order and in the past when he was a kid. What he was witnessing looked like an opening of a portal but on the other side.

Portal exploration had practically been banned. This was an order from Logan Green and a passed-on law, when Quinn had learned that the exploration of humans was bringing them the attention of the Celestials.

The exploration had come to a stop, to make sure that the humans would never become a threat that the Celestials wished to deal with.

Still, from time to time, strange energy occurrences would happen, and portals would break out, linked from the beast planets. When these creatures entered, the Order or general public would deal with it, since there were many that had ability powers anyway, and the beasts were small problems.

The size of what he was witnessing right now-it was unheard of, though. It was then that all of the sparks in the air started to connect. As they did, a giant ring had appeared in the sky above the city, and the center started to fill and swirl with a strange array of colors.

Immediately after, a claw was seen dropping down from the portal-four to be exact at the same time. Following after, four legs could be seen with a large white-furred body. It fell onto the city, crashing on top of several buildings and shaking the entire place.

It was a beast, with a large face, and had swirling golden hair coming from the top of its mouth along its body. The swirling yellow hair was sparking constant blue lightning in every direction.

Immediately after, a sounding alarm was heard playing throughout the city.

«Alert, Alert, in Drew District, a Demi-god tier beast has appeared.»

«A Demi-god tier beast, right in the center of the city!» — Galen said.

«That's never happened before and so close, and that's just under a Demon Tier! The Order — they're not going to be able to handle this!»

Twisting the throttle of his bike, Galen rushed off towards the beast.

        2548: Forbidden power.

The beast that had fallen into the middle of the city was fairly large, around the size of eight of the biggest elephants Earth had ever seen placed together in mass. There were bigger beasts than this that the general public had seen, but this one was different.

Green City had a number of advanced systems and technology ingrained in the city. One of them being sensors that scanned the beast's crystal energy readings for their power level, and this beast that had landed was classified as a Demi-god tier beast.

There were 8 tiers that beasts were categorized into:

        Basic Tier;

        Intermediate Tier;

        Advanced Tier;

        King Tier;

        Emperor Tier;

        Legendary Tier;

        Demi-god Tier;

        Demon Tier.

Once in a while, portal disruptions would occur around Green City, or there would be an escaped beast or two, but these were mostly at the Basic Tier or the Intermediate Tier. Someone among the public with an advanced ability, like fire or something like lightning, could easily deal with this themselves.

Due to nearly everyone having some form of power, it was as if everyone was armed at all times, and it wasn't much of a threat. Still, the general public wasn't like what it used to be back in the past.

The era of wars had long gone, and most people didn't try to enhance their abilities or grow them to a massive amount of power, unless they were into competitive sports or in a special type of force.

So anything above this would be troublesome for them. At most, they had experienced a King Tier beast landing in the city, and that had killed three members of the public in the past.

It was something that was remembered well, and now the warning was stating that there was a Demi-god Tier beast.

Immediately, those that saw the beast land on the ground didn't even try to use their powers to subdue it-they started to run.

Some helped out those by their side, picking up their partners and flying to safety. Others just ran for themselves using their powers. The situation had turned into a free-for-all.

Some had gone into the nearby shops and buildings, not too worried as they believed in the city's natural defenses. On the street, strange cylinder objects popped up from the ground, and then part of a door swirled open.

Coming out of the cylinder objects were robotic figures that looked human with a black face on them.

They flew in the air around the beast, and already there were around thirty of them surrounding it. Out from the palm of their hands, pure energy blasts were being shot at the beast again and again.

The energy blasts continued, but the beast had next to no reaction. Eventually, one of the long yellow strands that swirled from its face like a giant whisker moved into the air. Lightning sparks were surrounding it, and then a loud noise followed.

A thunderous noise echoed throughout the city, lightning expanded out of the large whisker hair, and zapped all of the robots. Part of the outside seemed to melt, and nearly instantly they all fell to the floor.

Those that were calm before and believed in the city's defenses were now in a bigger panic. On the streets, the public started to turn and run. Too hurried, they tripped under their own feet. They tried to crawl and get up, but their legs were too startled.

The beast raised one of its large paws, and its clawed hand descended, ready to crush a human. Moments before, just underneath where the man was, a dark shadow had appeared. The man felt his body sink down and fall, while the claw had hit the floor and nothing else.

The man suddenly felt himself appearing from above and landing on the ground, several meters away from the beast.

        «Get out of here!» — Galen said.

A strange black shadow that was connected to the floor, and above in the air, retreated back to Galen, surrounding both of his arms.

The power that only Galen currently had, a power that was long lost — the power of Shadows. Connected to his body, it allowed the man to sink through one part and appear out of another.

However, there was a big issue with the shadow power, at least how Galen could use it.

«Now… I need to deal with this thing» — Galen said nervously, looking up.

The beast looked at Galen and went to swipe its claw. Quickly, Galen jumped over the claw and extended the shadow of his hand, using it to give himself a push in the air, propelling himself forward towards its face.

Right after, as expected, the strange whiskers that were being used-one of them had come to Galen's side, electrified.

Gathering the shadow to his left arm, he extended it out, creating a large shield. As the whisker hit, the shadow did its job blocking the attack.

Extending his hand out, a bright red sword had appeared in Galen's hand — a beast weapon.

«This weapon is only at the King Tier, but with my strength it should be able to do something, right?» — Galen thought as he used one hand with the shadow to form a claw and reach out, grabbing onto the beast's face, and then pulled himself forward.

As he did, Galen shoved the sword right into the top of the beast's mouth. The sword had pierced right through and caused the beast to wince in pain. As it shook its head, Galen was shaken off and almost crashed to the ground, but thankfully he used his shadow to stop his fall in time.

As Galen was back on the ground, he could see the beast shaking about with the sword stuck in the top of its snout, but it was a small wound. Almost like an annoying splinter to the animal, and not enough to take it out.

«This is what I was worried about,» — Galen thought.

Galen's father, Quinn, was advanced with the shadow powers, but even then the shadow was never the core thing that Quinn used to attack. The ability, after all, was more of a defensive ability.

It had to be combined with another power for it to be more effective, and the great items that Quinn had managed to get a — hold of had long ago been donated to Earth's defense forces.

Leaving Galen with only the King Tier sword for his attack, just on his own, he doubted he could defeat the Demi-god Tier beast.

As Galen was trying to figure out what to do, he noticed that all the yellow whiskers on the beast started to light up. Not just that, but it was spreading through the white hairs on its entire body.

Its claws, its muscular back, and its long tail — it was spreading everywhere. This was a large-scale attack.

«If he does that right here, in the middle of the city… then how many will die!» — Galen thought.

«This isn't the time, Galen balled up his fist.»

«This isn't the time to be holding back.»

Galen quickly placed both of his hands on the ground, and the shadow leaked out of his entire body. It stretched out, covering the floor, and then started to cover the surrounding area. A dome was being created around him and the beast.

From the outside, all people could see was a dark shadow that was encasing the two of them, until they could see nothing but the dome made out of the shadow.

Inside, the beast's entire body was still sparking away, almost charged up for a large attack.

«You just happened to run into the wrong person today,» — Galen said as he stood there and raised his hand.

Soon his fist was covered in a white glowing energy, and it started to surround the rest of his body until there was an aura around him.

«I know Minny didn't want me to use this, but I have no choice!»

Rarely had Galen used these powers, and each time he did, strange occurrences would happen. Too strange to the point where Galen would even have to go into hiding. Because of this, Minny had asked him to never use this power.

These were also the words and warnings from his father, and he had done well — until now.

Right now, he had covered his entire body and being in celestial energy, the power of the gods.

2549: Place for people like you!

All of Galen's body was glowing with white energy while the shadow dome was still in place. The power that covered him inside and out was celestial energy, a power that was rarely seen, and next to no one knew about.

Galen looked at the beast, and then positioned his hand in the air. A shadow portal had appeared, and the next moment, Galen was falling out of the portal right above the beast.

Its whiskers were still electrifying itself, and soon its whole body let out a devastating shock. Galen's entire body disappeared for a moment as the electric shock shook the whole dome.

From the outside though, all people could see was the shadow dome and had no clue what was taking place inside. Once the attack stopped, Galen appeared out of the shadow, and both of his hands were covered in the shadow.

With the power of the shadow, they had been enlarged to a great size, nearly five times as big, and the celestial energy was still covering the outside of them.

As Galen fell to the ground, he then pounded the beast with his two giant arms, and the energy exploded onto the beast, forcing its head to hit against the hard ground.

With the celestial energy, it wasn't just Galen's strength or body that was enhanced, but he found his abilities were stronger as well. He could use the shadow power in similar ways as his father could.

Detaching it and opening up shadow portals. The main use of celestial energy. though, was that it was an energy that beasts, humans, and those with powers were unable to counter against — a pure form of energy that heavily hurt those they fought against.

«There's a reason why people stopped invading Earth,» — Galen said as he landed on the ground.

«This was a place that God Slayers, Demonic Beasts, and not even Celestials themselves could survive. You chose the wrong place to attack!» — Galen said as he charged forward.

The crowd from outside were carefully watching from afar in their buildings and more. Vehicles had approached the attacked area, and by now the Order had even arrived. Yet they didn't dare move close, wondering what was happening on the inside.

After five minutes, the shadow dome started to break apart and disappear. The people braced themselves, worried for the beast to go on a rampage.

When the shadow dome completely fell though, the only thing that was inside was a fallen beast laying on its side, with no sign of life. The Order quickly moved in and cleared the area, but the most shocking thing to them was the fact that there was no one else — there was just the beast.

On the rooftop, around a kilometer away, a same circular shadow could be seen. It eventually stopped in the center, and right out of it Galen had appeared. Immediately he fell to his knees as he popped out.

«I don't use celestial energy that much… and it always feels weird around my body… it's almost fighting against something inside me, Galen thought as he placed his hand over one of his eyes.»

He squinted hard a few times, and even ran his fingers across his teeth, but there was nothing there. After just a few seconds of rest he stood up and looked into the direction of where the beast had fallen.

«It's a shame, I would have liked to have created a beast weapon out of its crystal, but I couldn't stay there. If they found out I was able to kill a Demi-god tier beast, there would just be too many questions,» — Galen thought.

«I just have to be happy with the fact that so few people were able to get hurt.»

Thanks to his shadow abilities, he could use his skill shadow travel. Sinking into the ground into his own shadow, the shadow could freely move as a spot on the ground. It was great for escaping and getting into areas he shouldn't be in.

«I do wonder though, what happened to make a beast appear like that?» — Galen said.

      Clap, Clap, Clap.

      «That was a good performance!» — a man's voice said.

Galen immediately turned his head and could see a blond man in a white suit standing on the edge of the building, clapping. Galen had never seen this person before and was immediately on guard.

«Don't worry, don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you, believe me, I'm just like you.»

The blond-haired man raised his hand, and white glowing energy covered his entire hand.

In an instant, Galen knew this person was like him he could also use celestial energy.

Still, Galen didn't react, because this wasn't particularly good news either. Never in his life, since Quinn had gone into eternal slumber, had he met someone who could use celestial energy.

«I'm surprised to see someone act. Most Celestials just ignore when a beast attacks Earth. I mean, they have their own strong forces to help out, and if things go too far we can get in quite a bit of trouble,» — the man said.

      «The name's Aven.»

The man bowed slightly, but Galen still didn't say anything, nor did he know what to say.

«Judging how you used your energy back there and the fact that you're on Earth, let me guess you're a new Celestial right? You don't even have access to the Celestial space yet?»

Galen didn't want to show his surprised look on his face, but he actually had little idea what the man was talking about. With his celestial powers he didn't talk to his father much about them.

Other than not to use them.

«Look I just wanted to reach out, because I was in the same situation. Right now I'm on vacation and decided to visit Earth,» — Aven said.

«Judging by your lack of answers I can tell you're a new Celestial.»

«There's a few options: either you're a Celestial that has been newly born from being worshipped, one that has grown to become one, or a born Celestial from Celestial parents. Many Celestials are abandoning their kids these days, and don't be shy. I was the same.»

Aven then threw over a glowing card, and Galen managed to catch it. When looking at the card, he could see a location-the coordinates were space coordinates.

«More and more Celestials have been having children lately, which are leading many either having to follow the conditions of their parents, who don't need any help, or are being born with no condition at all.»

«Yet that leaves them in a strange place. A place where they feel like they have no purpose in this world. So many of these Celestial children have just been roaming around and Earth has become quite a popular place for them to stop by.»

«Maybe because of all the lives or the history to do with the place. Regardless, because of the situation, a Celestial school has been set up. If you want purpose, or to go to a place where there are those like you, then feel free to join.

«If you don't want to, you don't have to, but you should know, I've heard God Slayers becoming pretty rampant these days, and young Celestials like you are an easy target so take your pick.»

«Although I should warn you, even the school isn't a safe place for all, but if your dad or mum is a pretty powerful Celestial you should be safe.»

With those words, and without further explanation, Aven had seemingly disappeared and all he left behind were white feathers that fell onto the rooftop.

      Galen looked at the card.

«What even was that? Celestial Children, Celestial space, I don't even know anything about that… why would I just trust a random stranger that appeared out of nowhere as well?»

What did stick out to him was the words used: people like him, a purpose in this life? Not having to hide who he really was.

While looking closely at the card, he did start to wonder, what life would be like at such a place. The Celestials had to be doing something, a greater purpose to help the world. Maybe Galen could be like his father.

At that point, Galen sensed something and white feathers exploded in his face as the man reappeared in front of him.

«There's something that's really been bugging me, and I just had to come back and ask. If you are a Celestial's child, which Celestial's Son are you?» — Aven asked with a curious smile.

        2550: The search for Talen.

There were many skyscrapers that towered high in the sky, allowing one to overlook the city. In one of these towers, surrounded by glass on all sides, there was a group meeting taking place with around ten individuals inside.

A certain woman with a short skirt and her hair tied up was pointing at a holographic display.

«As you can see by the chart, our number of customers has been decreasing with time. Although it's hard to say if this is a good thing or a bad thing,» — the woman claimed.

«Fewer customers mean that we have to pivot into something else, but it also means we're doing our job.»

«It's been hard for vampires to settle into human society. Those that lost their powers and were older have naturally passed away. Right now, it's their children that are struggling. We know how hard it is the change in their body, to no longer being the same as they were before.»

«It takes quite the mental toll on a person. After the next two generations, we should have no problems with this, but learning to support those that have deep alienation issues with their mental health — the data we have gathered from our experience- we can pivot to users with super powers.»

«I want the marketing team to come up with fresh ideas on how we can pivot on this. We know there are plenty in the world that might be experiencing the same thing that the vampires once did.»

The woman then started to tap her hologram several times, as she was waiting for an answer, and she was looking in a particular direction.

«Minny, the boss is looking your way, you're head of marketing, right?» — the man by her side whispered.

«What?» — Minny said and started to realize where she was.

«Right, I'll get right on it. Super power problems and vampire problems… I'll make something.»

«Good, as long as we're clear on that.

Everyone get back to your offices,» — the woman said..

The meeting was over and standing up and exiting, they walked into the main office. It was a large room that allowed for around thirty workers, each with their own station at their desk.

This was where Minny currently worked, an organization that originally started out supporting vampires, or ex-vampires, to a regular way of life. With Minny being one herself, it was easier for her to relate.

After her father had gotten rid of Immortui, the vampires had lost their powers, and although they still had their special abilities, things weren't the same, and some still had a superiority complex.

The organization helped them in multiple ways, but the ex-vampires were fewer in number year by year, as people even forgot they existed.

        «Are you sure you're alright?» — the man said.

«You've been dazing in and out a lot.»

        «Yeah, I'm fine, Tobi,» — Minny replied.

«I've just been worried about my brother, it's always the same this time of year.»

«Right… I see. I guess it's not a good time to go out for dinner?» — Tobi asked with a smile.

Tobi and Minny knew each other from way back. Both of them were at the Vampire Academy when they were younger. They had a weird relationship at the start but eventually stayed close to each other.

Which was more due to Tobi's persistence than anything.

«Maybe next week, when my head is a little less worried.»

The two of them were about to split apart, since Minny's office was to the left and Tobi's was to the right of the room, but just then both of them stopped in their tracks as they saw something straight ahead in the room.

There were sparks appearing in front of them.

        «Are you seeing this?» — Tobi asked.

Before Minny could answer, the whole ground had a deep rumble, the entire office shook, and screams from their fellow colleagues started after as equipment fell to the floor.

Even Minny and Tobi stumbled. When they finally looked up, the sparks had turned into what they had feared-a full-sized portal had opened up in front of them.

Immediately coming out from the portal, was a long winding arm that spiraled at the end, sharp like a blade. The head of the figure appeared next, looking dark green like that of a tree, and its legs were thick along with its feet like two tree trunks.

«That's a beast, and it doesn't look like a basic tier beast either!» — Minny exclaimed.

Looking to its right, one of the office workers placed their hand out and a small fireball started to appear. Most people learned an ability here or there, but most learned those that made their life easier.

In an office, there wouldn't be many fighters.

The fireball was ready to leave her palm, when the beast's arm extended out and the bladed part went right through her chest, killing her before it could even be activated. It was incredibly fast.

«That beast has to at least be at the King tier, this isn't good, no one in the office can deal with that!» — Minny claimed.

Tobi grabbed Minny's arm and immediately started to run with her. They ran back, and then went down one of the aisles of offices, before finding a place and hiding behind it, catching their breath.

«A beast appearing in a portal, and right in our office… is that even possible?» — Tobi asked.

The sound of screams continued, as well as falling objects and more. They could tell the beast was going on a rampage with several of the office workers.

Right now, Minny was just thinking of what she could have done. Her God Slayer tier ring, a gift from her father, she had kept in her apartment. She didn't wear it out for fear of what it could bring if people found out what it was.

In this situation, she could have used it to kill the beast. Another thing she could have done were her old shadow powers, but she had lost them when she was no longer a vampire.

Her ability was lost at the time, and although she could learn a new ability, she never wanted to. The only ability she wanted to learn again, if possible, was the shadow ability.

So she was defenseless, and it was pretty much the same for Tobi who was by her side.

«I have to do something,» — Tobi said.

«What do you mean, even with your telekinesis powers you can't fight against that thing, you don't have any beast gear on,» — Minny replied.

«It doesn't matter. I have the most experience with fighting. If I don't deal with it, then that beast is going to kill everyone including us.»

Tobi went to stand up and move, but Minny quickly pulled him, practically trying to drag him back down.

«I can't lose you as well!» — Minny said as she pulled.

If it was any other moment, Tobi would have been incredibly pleased to have heard those words, but right now, it wasn't the time.

«I'm sorry,» — Tobi said as he ran out into the center row where the offices were split in half.

He looked ahead, and could see the beast covered in blood, turning its head and looking at him. Dropping one of the bodies of the office workers, the beast started to walk its way to Tobi.

        «Alright… I can do this… I can do this.»

«We can do this,» — Minny said as she stood by Tobi's side.

Although they had lost their powers, they were both still slightly more skilled compared to others and had more experience dealing with beasts. Although Minny said this, she honestly wasn't so sure how they would deal with the beast.

«Ready!» — Minny said, getting into a fighting stance.

Just as Tobi was about to say ready, he saw from the side of the office, a foot come out. It kicked the beast on the side. That was all it looked like a simple kick-but the moment it touched the beast…

The beast was propelled, flying and breaking through all of the cubicle walls. It continued until it hit the reinforced glass and broke right out of the building, off in the distance.

«What was that… did the Order arrive?» — Tobi asked.

Both of them then saw a man who looked to be around his thirties step into view where the beast once was.

«No… the man, he's not wearing any beast gear… but then how did he manage to kick a king tier beast like that?» — Minny said with awe.

As the two stared at the man, they could see him looking around the room and eventually looking right at the two of them. Now with his face pointing towards them they could see his standout features.

He had an athletic muscular build, was wearing a pair of black trousers and boots. A plain white shirt, and on top of it, a small blazer-like jacket that was mainly black but with a gold trim.

As for the main feature that stood out to her, it was the bright green hair on top of his head.

        «I'm looking for a Talen?» — the man asked.

      2551: My vampire awakening.

Minny and Tobi's strength was far from their older days, at least when beast gear wasn't taken into account. They would struggle to fight against even an Intermediate Tier beast, never mind a King Tier beast.

And now, seeing the rampage it was causing in their office, both Minny and Tobi were thinking back to their former selves. At Minny's height, she could have perhaps even gone against a Demon Tier beast on her own, and now she amounted to nothing.

But it was because of these experiences and having been at the height of her strength to where she was now, that she knew the person in front of her had to be extremely powerful.

She could see no beast gear on his body, and with a simple kick, a King Tier beast had been sent flying through several office cubicles and out of the window. The man looked unfazed as he stood there, and he had called out for one name in particular, one family name.

«I'm looking for a Talen?» — the man asked. Immediately Tobi looked at Minny.

«Isn't that your family name, does that mean he's looking for you?»

Her family name, just like her brother's, was something that she had decided to keep a secret. Otherwise, the question would always be asked, don't you have the same family name as that Hero?

It was something she didn't want to be reminded about. Yet it was clear this man, who knew the family name, didn't know who she was, because even though he was looking directly at the two, he had still asked the question.

«Come on, let's get out of here,» — Minny said.

      «We don't even know who he is?» — Minny tugged Tobi's shirt.

«What do you mean, he just killed that beast and saved us, it's clear he's a good person.»

Minny wasn't so sure, and in the middle of their little spat, several more portals could be seen sparking and opening up behind him, and before they knew it, more of the King Tier beasts had approached the man.

Despite not knowing whether he was good or bad, Minny couldn't help but call out the danger in front of her.

      «Look out!» — Minny shouted.

The green-haired man moved his head to the side, and an extended beast arm hit the floor. The man then grabbed the arm, pulled the body towards him, and punched it in the center of its stomach.

The body crashed into the floor and looked to go several floors further down. As another two went towards him, the man quickly moved right to them and swung both of his arms, ripping half of their bodies apart.

Just like that, three King Tier beasts were dealt with without any problem at all. When the man turned to look at them, that's when they both saw it.

      «Red eyes…» — Minny said.

      «Red eyes… does that mean he's a… a vampire… they're glowing as well!» — Tobi exclaimed.

«That's impossible though, when my father defeated Immortui all of the vampires should have been cured… it no longer exists!»

The man walked over to the two of them, and seeing how fast the man had moved, Minny knew it was useless to run.

«I would appreciate it if you didn't call me one of those scum. Putting both of us in the same sentence doesn't sit well with me,» — the man said.

«Anyway, since I'm here, I assume one of you two is a Talen.»

Tobi turning his head was a complete giveaway, and Minny felt like she couldn't hide it anymore either.

«Who are you… why are you looking for me?» — Minny asked on guard.

Was it an alien, was it another Celestial that had come to target her, maybe Immortui had somehow come back and was plotting his revenge against their whole family, but she could do nothing no.

«The name's Gary, Gary Dem,» — the man pointed to himself.

«And in this situation, I'm just an escort. Right now we don't have time, we have to meet the others.»

      «Others?» — Minny asked.

A powerful rumble was felt and the whole building started to shake, Minny had almost lost her footing and fell to the floor but before she did, Gary had grabbed her, keeping her stable.

She then looked up directly at his face and it was the first time she noticed if one looked past the green hair he was actually somewhat handsome.

«Okay, let's just go, no need to hold hands!» — Tobi said as he pushed himself through, breaking the two of them up, and started to head to the elevator.

«Hey, not that way, I said we're in a rush,» — Gary then pointed toward the glass window.

But they were on the 30th floor, they weren't vampires anymore, there was no way they could survive something like that. Before they knew it, Gary had picked up Minny and Tobi and placed both under his arm.

«Wait, what about the rest?» — Minny asked.

In the office there were still others that were alive.

«Don't worry, as long as you aren't with them, they won't be in danger,» — Gary replied.

Before they knew it, Gary was already running. He kicked the air before reaching the window and just with that power alone, the reinforced glass broke. Right after, he leapt out of the window and all three started to fall down to the ground.

Tobi was screaming his head off while Minny tried to remain calm. Just as they reached the floor, Gary bent his knees bracing the impact and destroying part of the concrete flooring beneath them.

      «We're… alive!» — Tobi said.

Slowly Gary placed both of them on the ground, and Tobi nearly collapsed again until Minny held him upright.

Minny was ready to ask Gary what was happening, what the situation was, why did beasts appear and who he was again? It was clear that he didn't want to kill her, at least not now anyway.

But even after learning his name, she had no idea who he was. All of those questions stopped though as she saw the situation on the street. Flying vehicles had crashed, and the streets themselves were empty, void of people.

Instead it was filled with the carcasses of many beasts on the ground. Many of them looked to be higher tier than that of King Tier as well. They littered the entire floor.

«Did you do all of this?» — Tobi asked.

«No, I was too focused on trying to find you. It's him that did all of this,» — Gary looked ahead.

And they could see a man dressed in black with a trench coat, he had short black hair messy on top of his head, on his back, there was an axe and a sword. A strange combination, and strange to see someone in this day and age walking down the street like this.

It was hard for Minny to tell if even what he had on him was beast gear. It certainly didn't feel like it, especially since both of — the weapons including what he had laying across his chest were red in color.

It almost felt more like blood weapons instead. In this day and age, she wondered how one could even get blood weapons.

«You did a good job, Tai!» — Gary called out with a wave.

«You two should have a lot to talk about,» — Gary looked back at Minny.

«Considering how the two of you are related and all.»

Tai had finally gotten to the others, and with a closer look, Minny was wondering if she recognized this person, but just like with Gary she had no idea who he was.

      «Tai…» — Minny asked.

«Tai Talen,» — the man dressed in black replied.

It looked like Tai was ready to say something else when the heavy rumbling was felt once again. This time, they didn't have to figure out or ask where it was coming from. Just around the corner from one of the large skyscrapers, the body of a giant beast could be seen.

It had a giant crab-like claw, with two large heavy feet. Orange and mangled with eyes on its giant clawed hands as well as the centre of its head. It was almost the size of one of the skyscraper-sized buildings itself.

      «It's a Demon Tier beast,» — Tai said instantly.

This was something even Minny couldn't be sure about, just because a beast was big didn't mean it was Demon Tier, yet he had confirmed it in an instant.

      «Right,» — Gary added.

«This is going to be troublesome!»

The beast looked down the street at the group, and then opened its mouth revealing hundreds of sharp teeth. It was ready to let out an almighty roar, until a figure burst right through its mouth creating a large hole.

It happened in an instant. The entire beast's body looked to have frozen, and following it a big crash occurred ripping part of the concrete street. Gary quickly got in the way of the others and swung both of his hands.

Visible lines could be seen coming out on the street and ripping the broken concrete apart and pushing it back, dropping it on the floor.

Following the chaos, there was a loud thud, as the Demon Tier beast had fallen just like that, and instead they could now see a man in red armour walking their way.

«What is happening, this has been one of the craziest days of my life!» — Tobi exclaimed.

      «And I went through a lot as a child.»

Minny though didn't have the same question, because out of all the people that she had seen today, this one she did recognize.

      «Uncle Ray!» — Minny called out.

Ray walked over with his arms open wide, hoping that Minny would come and run towards him, but she did no such thing, and when he realized that she wasn't going to, he quickly folded his arms.

«Where did you go… where have you been this entire time!» — Minny asked as tears started to flow down her face.

Although Minny called Ray her uncle she knew it wasn't correct, it was just a name she gave him. The two of them had spent an incredibly long time together, over a 1000 years while being stuck in Quinn's shadow.

It allowed the two of them to get to know each other well, and she would never forget him, but after everything that happened with Quinn, Ray had just disappeared, never returning once, until this moment right now.

Initially happy to see him, she started to be filled with anger.

«I guess this isn't exactly the time for us to be talking about reunions,» — Ray said.

«Right, I think we should get to the point,» — Gary asked.

«The reason why we're here with you, is because we need you Minny, or more precisely we need your blood.»

      «My blood.»

«Yes and not just the blood of any Talen,» — Tai added.

«We need Quinn to wake up from his eternal slumber, we need Quinn Talen to help us. We knew they were going to come after you, because if they get rid of you, then no one can wake up Quinn Talen!»

«Before you ask, my blood won't work either,» — Ray answered.

«Although this body's gotten a lot stronger getting used to my old power, it's not my old body, and it seems to not be pure enough to wake him up, which seems to be the problem of another person as well.»

All of the others in the group looked at each other when they heard Ray say those words.

«So we're here to protect you, and escort you to Quinn,» — Gary explained.

«It's too much to explain right now, but that's the short version of it all.»

«Wait!» — Minny said, holding her hands out.

«But I think there's a big mistake, and you should have known this as well.»

«I'm not against waking up dad or helping you guys, something clearly strange is going on, but my blood won't work either I'm not… I'm not a real Talen!»

After Minny said those words, the look on all of their faces immediately dropped.

«I knew we shouldn't have listened to the dragon,» — Tai complained.

      «But… my brother,» — Minny said.

«My brother Galen, his blood should work, we can use his blood to wake him up.»

      «Alright,» — Gary said.

      «Then let's go get your brother!»

All of them nodded in agreement, but Minny still had no idea what had happened. Why had these people gathered, who were they? Why did they need to wake up her father?

      «Let's get Galen,» — Ray said.

«And wake up your father from his damn slumber, he's slept long enough.»

Damn I hate loose ends. I miss Leo and block head. I miss fex. It’s a shame he was old man. I feel like Quinn really got the complete shit end of the stick from the very start. He was what alive for like 43 years maybe total not counting that weird 1000 year gap. Just frequently losing everyone just to have kids and not even watch them become adults. Shit is sad man

I’m disappointed that we didn’t find out what happened with Ray. I feel a bit cheated there.

Immortui arc was rushed like the the main villain had to have a big impact atleast and the way Chris and Unzoku got their powers erased after getting to that level 😔😔 I know everything has to end but I was seeing so much potential here I can't help but be sad.
Helen needed to come back too

The story was good but ended up strangely, like it was rushed. Sadly, I'm not sure if I'll read every tale of "My ... system." The future isn't set in stone!
