One will to create oceans. One will to summon the mulberry fields. One will to slaughter countless devils. One will to eradicate innumerable immortals. Only my will… is eternal.

A Will Eternal tells the tale of Bai Xiaochun, an endearing but exasperating young man who is driven primarily by his fear of death and desire to live forever, but who deeply values friendship and family. Collapse

Eternal Will is one of the top five novels I’ve ever read in my life.

The protagonist, Bai Xiaochun, isn’t your typical hero—his only true goal is to achieve immortality. He’s a uniquely written character, unlike most protagonists in novels. Personally, I sometimes felt frustrated by the way he behaved, especially at the beginning of the story. I kept hoping he would mature.

But when I finally finished the novel, I realized that the best decision Er Gen made was not changing the protagonist’s personality. He remained exactly as he was—“white, pure, small.”

A Masterpiece of Comedy and Cultivation.
The story follows Bai Xiaochun, and calling him just a "protagonist" doesn't do him justice. He is a walking, talking disaster magnet whose primary motivation in life is living forever.

Bai Xiaochun’s shamelessness and fear of death lead to some of the funniest scenes in cultivation fiction, yet his loyalty, growth, and humanity give the story real emotional weight.

This isn't a noble quest for the peak of the Dao. It's sheer, unadulterated cowardice and a profound love for being alive. He will go to any length to avoid danger, which, of course, inevitably leads him directly into the most terrifying situations imaginable.

I like the book very much but if there's one that that irritates me it's the cultivation system. I get that the author was trying to make a spin of the generic one, but this seemed like one where the exaggeration of the rarity is too much. How the mortal, earth and heaven path are defined imply heaven path is too rare of ever gone through even in the riversource sects, but the fact that mc has it is always overlooked by the villain of the chapter of which we have many. Also needing external sources to breakthrough has always irritated me. U can have a superior or easier path with external uses but completely cutting off breaking through without external resources is dumb. How did people even discover the method then? Especially the nascent soul breakthrough. Needing a deva level resource is one thing, but needing a dead deva level being for a nascent soul level being is pure insanity

Possible unpopular opinion here, but I didn't find this book that good. It was one of the first cultivation books so I stubbornly finished it. I read and liked I Shall Seal the Heavens by the same author so I thought this would be good as well. This is supposed to be comedy, but I find the MC's brand of comedy just irritating and wanted to smack him all the time. I found ISSTH much funnier actually. I guess it all comes down to personal tastes.

I'm pretty biased since it was like my second webnovel ever read but "is that a wisp" is comedy and cultivation. Also "death and me" is the authors later work which follows the comedy and cultivation. I've enjoyed both books, finished wisp 3 times and read 1500 or 1600 chapters of death and me (only stopped because I got caught up and started stockpiling only to get distracted on other novels and don't really remember what was happening) so I haven't started it back up.

At first this novel is quite unique but then already start devolving into combat powerups and typical righteous MC after 100 chapters. It is a er gen novel nothing else to say, read it if you are noob. If you are not noob just read Outside of Time that one is actually good unlike this one. Would have been interesting if author doubles down on original personality of MC, but he does not, so it becomes generic trash fast.

There is no unique cultivation system.

The side characters are good (except females, but its er gen what do u expect)

The world building is meh but not bad.

MC is unique but devolves into generic slowly.

Go read Outside of Time that is much much better XD.

This novel was so great I haven’t had time take my daily naps or other daily habits (you can probably imagine what they are) because all my extra time has been spent on reading this. And it’s the first novel I’ve done so much background research on after the ending to understand some things I might have missed. Honestly the mc can be a little annoying at times but he might be my favorite character, and he’s definitely the most memorable. He becomes more mature and we see less and less of his cowardly and annoying tendencies as more responsibilities are added onto him, to the point he doesn’t go around walking and annoying people just to see them praise him, especially after people start thinking good of him. Some people say he doesn’t mature but he does, it just takes a lot of time and he only shows his original personality in front of a few close ones. Especially in the last few sagas/arcs, we see a lot of his dependability, of course we still see his funny and shameless side. May favorite part of this novel will probably be whenever he causes chaos, especially the times he concocts medicine. I remember this book being one of my early novels, but I stopped midway before the Wildlands arc, and now that I’m finished I’m glad I read it all.
This book will remain eternal in my mind-

Have you read some of it and had a difficult time reading it because it’s a shared universe or do you have a difficult time reading it because you heard it’s a shared universe? If it’s the latter, I can say that most things in these shared universe novels have barely anything shared. Especially this novel, all the cultivation levels are different, the realm is different, and the techniques are different. Only at the end is there some slight mentions of the other novels. It’s mostly this novel though that has the least relation to the other novels, other novels might meet the main characters of other novels near the end. I actually like that this novel is somewhat connected to the others, I want to see more of this mc

Lol that’s where I stopped reading at first when I was still a little new to novels. It took me like a year or two to get back. But yeah it does, everything that happened by then is still pretty early in the story, and it’s more like a funny cultivation novel up to that point. But after an arc/saga or two, the story starts becoming much more serious. If your looking forward to that you should stay
