    I've caught up with the MTL (which is currently at the end of Volume 1 authors note and a hiatus) and I must say I went into this expecting a story to kill some time. I actually put off reading this novel in favor of others multiple times. Now having finished the initial journey all I can say is it was amazing. It's very well written, the characters themselves are intelligent (well the smart ones are) and act like real people. The conclusion of Volume 1 was extremely satisfying as well as
    . That said it was expected. I hope the author can continue this level and quality when he returns from his hiatus.

    In the Fool and sage game, mtl has more chapters than the normal translation.

    A lot of stuff was skipped (about 4 chapters).

    It's very good and the quality's consistent even nearly 400 chapters in, the MTL is satisfactory as well, so there's no reason not to read this if you enjoy death game oriented stories.

    One weakness of this is that the novel spoonfeeds the process and answer of the games afterwards, which is fine since I'm assuming the author uses it as a building block for the next game he envisions.
