A story about a traveler who crossed into a parallel universe, relying on his Proficiency ability to continuously grind experience and become stronger.

The “liver” meme in Chinese gaming culture can be likened to the “sell a kidney” meme, as both express extreme dedication or sacrifice for the sake of gaming.

The "sell a kidney" meme humorously suggests that individuals would go to great lengths, even selling an organ, to afford in-game purchases or experiences. Similarly, the "liver" meme refers to players who spend excessive hours grinding in games, often at the expense of their health, particularly their liver, due to late-night gaming sessions.

This book, like all my favorites, seemed unappealing at first glance — low-key title, mediocre cover, unimpressive synopsis. But as they say: don't judge a book by its cover. And for good reason.

The beginning was decent but not particularly striking — slow-paced, sometimes dragging, reminding me of Way of the Devil in its tempo and vibe. But it's actually a very different beast.

The most impressive thing about this book is the feeling of freedom and the feeling of progress. The MC genuinely has no attachments. He does what he wants, the way he wants. He seeks immortality,
and even when joining a sect, he spends his very first day mapping out two or three escape routes. If a rabbit has 3 burrows, he has 33 — and he monitors every single one. At every new location, he
digs 4 underground stashes stocked with months worth of food. His meticulousness is something else.

And yet he doesn't feel unreachable — not like Fang Yuan, for instance. He comes across as a fairly ordinary person. With weaknesses, personality, hobbies. He loves his rocking chair, throws himself
a feast after every minor breakthrough, goes to bed on a strict schedule. He inspires admiration and at the same time — a strange sense of kinship. He feels alive.

About the progress — here's the thing. The MC gains experience for every repetition, so there's genuine progression in literally every chapter, all his skills and abilities visibly grow. It makes me
feel like a cat basking in the sun while a drop of sweet honey slowly rolls across my tongue.

The world around him lives its own life — storms and whirlpools of events everywhere, but the MC isn't the source of any of it. He's just a lone boat being tossed by the waves. Events force him into
endless wandering — but that's a good thing. Not a march toward a single fixed goal, but drifting with the current. Whatever happens, whatever changes — the destination stays the same. All paths lead
there. And this book captures that beautifully.

I read half of it in MTL and honestly don't even know what the MC's current cultivation stage is called. It doesn't matter to me at all. The feeling is more important than the terminology.

    ---
Now, about the reviews I disagree with.

A lot of people criticize the MC's relationship with the merchant Jie Jia — saying the MC is foolish for going back to a swindler again and again. But wait. The MC is a transmigrator. He knows
nothing about this world. Where else is he supposed to go? Into an unfamiliar market, with no idea who to trust, what fair prices look like, or how to spot a fake? Or to a familiar face? Sure, Jie
Jia skims a little off the top — but when the MC found fake herbs in a batch, Jie Jia replaced them. Next time he found more fakes — replaced again. That's not being conned. That's being taught. Jie
Jia is the MC's unofficial mentor in more ways than one, not to mention the only source for certain rare goods. A man with 33 burrows doesn't stick with a supplier out of laziness.

People complain about the "food fetish." But those feasts after every breakthrough aren't filler — they're character. Details like these are exactly what make him feel alive instead of another hollow
    MC.

"Barely any female characters" — well, yes. Because this isn't a romance and it isn't a harem. The MC has no attachments — to places, to people. That's the freedom I'm talking about.

Out of every book in my reading list, this is the one I look forward to most. Every new chapter feels like a breath of fresh air.

It was good till he became a farmer in the new sect but then one destabilizing event after another takes place, characters just go crazy finding issies with him and the cultivation system also gets confusing. So many skills that griding them doesnt even matter anymore. Post 500 i kind of lost interest waiting for something to happen.

Adding to other reviews, the author seems to have a food fetish. Not a single chapter passes without wasting paragraphs on cooking or eating. While consuming food to power-up are common in this genre, It’s excessive here, the MC was gluttonous and picky even before his training began.

Honestly one of the best cultivation novels as well as system integrated one with this system genuinely allowing him to progress in this f#ckin crazy world the author made while the cultivation itself still has depth and breadth seen throughout with multiple methods to strength and a changing landscape of the world as the novel progresses, although the first ~200-300 chapters are very limited by the mc's strength if you can get through it (not to say its bad before that) the story gets 10x better and is 100% worth a read

It started well, but it turned boring and stupid pretty fast. I'm dropping it at 141 chapter, I can't continue anymore. I really gave it a chance, but it didn't work out.

I am confused by the cultivation system. Its not as direct as levels (like standard) and techniques bring huge variables, but still trying to would be awesome.

I forgot earlier things, but I think new ones are:
