Kreig was summoned to the other world 130 years ago, the last 30 of which were spent in a constant, vengeful war against any army that would attempt to subjugate him. Once he returned, he found out that only 10 years had passed.

He was given the title of War of the North but he never even knew about it. After all, nobody could get close enough to tell it to him.

But that all changes one day when a portal opens, allowing Kreig and a small band of soldiers to enter one of many portals that leads to Earth. As it turns out these portals have been opening ever since he was summoned, giving the people of Earth abilities that the world he was summoned to only used to have. But now... now, he has returned. Longing for his former life of peace and understanding, he allows authorities to capture him on the spot, only to be faced with deeply personal questions, such as "who are you?" "what have you been doing for the past 10 years?" and "why is your level so high?"

AUDIBLE, E-BOOK AND PHYSICAL COPIES NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON!!!,

...Have you ever read a story where the main guy who got isekai'd returns to Earth. Say, for example, FFF-class trashhero or the necromancer of Seoul station? Say, what if the authorities actually became aware what kind of monster had returned to Earth?

What if they actually tried to use them for something?

Kreig's been in the other world for 130 years, has experienced three great wars, and he isn't okay. Mentally speaking, that is. He's been imprisoned, gained and lost comrades, been betrayed... The whole lot. By now, all he wants is to put it all behind him, something the world doesn't seem to want to let him.

A very nice and enjoyable story. It was great to finally read of a government that wasn't trying to provoke walking nukes. I'm glad the MC got the ending he deserved

    I just finished the book

Not gonna lie I didn't expect to like it. Man was I wrong this is a very unique take on isekai. Not action packed by any means but exceptional. If you are considering reading this book and you happen to see this then just give it a try I think it's worth it.

For those interested, the author also has a 'what if?' version on royalroad where kreig goes apeshit(his words) right after he returned.

8.4/10 This is really good if you go in not expecting an action heavy (or really action at all) novel, this is mainly a drama and psychological novel that focuses on PTSD. It goes alot into emotions and human psyque.

I honestly dont understand why other people are hating on this masterpiece. Maybe they come looking for an action packed novel With an op protagonist. That is not what this is, this is a deeply emotional and realistic depiction of what a long life filled with war does to a person and their journey towards redemption and reconciliation with their past. I have never been one for sad novels and this is the first one i have read through in all my life. Having finished it in one night (dont do this i have no regard for my mental health) i can honestly say that this novel moved me in a way that no other media has, bringing me to the brink of tears. If you have the patience and expectation that this will be a biography instead of a fantasy action, i can guarantee that you will enjoy this.

Never been the one for books with feelings and emotion like this but man you cannot deny that it is a masterpiece. It might not have been what you were looking for but I suggest giving it a try with an open mind.

Honestly for the first 30 chapters the author got me it was quite the novel experience even though I quite disliked the MC who seemed to be so unpersonable. But I was willing to preserve onwards to see where this is going until frankly nothing changed. And then the Jay character got introduced, I can't say enough how shit this character is but it's like the Author was determined to just shit all over this novel and this shit stain got a good ending too... ugh

Isnt that the point? I dont think he's supposed to be personable unless you are a vet struggling with ptsd. I do agree that jay was annoying but she definitely had sone issues, hormonal plus family, still doesnt excuse her action still a pos. Idk y im even replying so much but i really enjoyed this novel, hope you can reread it and get the same experience i did.
