    Honestly im starting to feel getting more cores doesnt boost his physical strength and speed at all or at least its minimal as hell(checked the wiki its suppose to boost the body too though class increases is mostly towards getting more essence rather than bodily buffs) Because bro has over 4 times the soul shards plus 3x boost. I get she gets enhanced, and she is more skilled but the fact he says they are even in str and speed got me kinda like why is his 3x boost so weak. I get you think you need more shadows but why is your base so weak when you have so many soul shards. Does morgan possibly also have multiple cores who knows. She may have one since she has war god lineage. All i can say is i think the extra cores are just quantitative boost in terms of the amount of soul essense or i guess shadow essence he has. Basically bigger tanks

      Humans rely primarily on skill in this world because they have to fight things that can kill them in one good hit all the time, sunny is a couple times stronger than a normal master but that’s nothing compared to how corrupted creatures compare to masters.

      Sunny isn't about raw strength. He's about perception/agility and cunning.

      And while he gets stats multipliers, others get theirs too. Pretty much all characters have some form of self buff

      Just look at Jet, who doesn't have 5 cores but instead a single huge one.

      I think having multiple cores doesn't directly proportional to greater stats it's like having more essence and more essence is equal to higher saturation of body and muscles therefore jet has such a higher strength because she just over saturates her body with essence while Morgan is very highly skilled in using her essence because she is a master for a way longer time than sunny. Therefore I don't think sunny is weak he is just underskilled

        No he’s right Sunny is weak. I don’t think they realize that Sunny has little brute strength because he’s not a brute strength kind of guy. Not only is he small and bony in stature he has little physical strength in base. He was malnourished from the outskirts so it’s not surprising that he’s short and more underdeveloped the he should’ve been. If Sunny had a physique like Roan or even Effie I’m sure he’d have more power. On top of that his essence control and usage might be good but without soul serpent it can’t compare to Morgan’s who been a master for years and trained by a top Legacy clan.

    I can see that it's not worth having all these cores and being a tyrant, soon to be a terror or titan. It didn't make any difference for him to have them to be equal in strength and speed with a master with only one core. It takes him much longer to saturate his cores to become stronger and it doesn't change a damn thing. This fight should be without shadow and with Sunny keeping his strength to the minimum possible to be considered equal in strength and speed. This inconsistency with strength in this novel is quite annoying, and there are still people trying to explain this nonsense. It seems that all the Power ups that Sunny has more than anyone else are worthless.

        Honestly though people here are very biased towards author when nephis does something crazy they don't even question when sunny has spent longer time as master and definitely more battles I get she was taught from a childhood but as sunny said 1 Life and death battle teaches more than years of training so i just don't get it he should be slightly superior

          True. Especially since Nephis shouldn't have had any experience fighting abominations and would only have had normal swordmanship before she became a sleeper.
          So it makes zero sense on why she is able to grow faster and stronger than Sunny who does at least the same amount of killing but has more abilities to use.
          It can be understood with Effie and Kai as they have much more experience due to surviving longer on the Forgotten Shores.
          And lets assume that Nephis attributes as a Nephilim and Dreamspawn and her divine aspect give her hidden bonuses.
          But Cassies power are all about seeing things. So she should be weak in combat, but a great strategist and so on.

            Well for nephis I get she is genius but even when they were equals (which even author can't reject it anymore even if he tries to people don't believe it) but he still has way with words

          Not the core.
          But each Shadow adds his base stats to the accumulated shadows.
          So he is double as strong and resilient with one shadow equipped.
          tripple with 2 and quadruple with 3 shadows.
          He even stated that he could probably fight weak saints with his body. So he should be able to overwhelm any Ascended in a friendly sparring match because he would be stronger, faster and more resilient/durable than the others.
          So it makes no sense that Morgan has around the same strength and speed as Sunny with 3 shadows equipped.
          I mean, it could have been easily written, that Morgan gets overwhelmed in a direct confrontation, but she uses her experience and better Essence control to overpower him without loosing too much essence herself.
          Or does it make sense that Sunny with all his powers would need to go all out against other Ascended besides bad pickups

      In terms of raw physical strength and speed, the two of them were about equal - granted, Sunny was only using three of his shadows to augment himself. He would have had an advantage if he used all five. But then again, his enemy was probably holding something back, too.

    But it doesn't make sense? All skills and tricks are moot in the face of absolute strength (if not, saint Tyris would've defeated the Winter Beast). The raw strength of masters should be similar with only slight differences. While Morgan has an enhancing awakened ability its focus is on resilience and yet she's outperforming Sunny augmented with 3 shadows on strength and speed? On top of that he has 5 cores making him tyrant and it was always mentioned (except the last time) that there is raw strength added with each core and it was even shown throughout the series that tyrants undergo a qualitative change. This inconsistent power system is the only flaw of this novel.
