a decent book, not the greatest literature wise it does get better later on grammaticality however the author takes a break after every chapter so there no way this series ends any time soon even though author is rushing things a bit

also he realized that the audience doesn't like alot of his characters so he simply pushes them to the back burner, and the characters that are interesting never get fully explored

Lausanne and her kids are quite a disappointment although Lausanne is actively fighting in chapter 280 ish now her kids were exclaimed as high quailty talents yet they quite literally got 3 lines of mentioning.

Jura is another big one honestly, I know he wanted to rest but honestly story really went downhill after that because author decided to rush character development of 6 other character

granted we got Edna and lumoof from it but the other Domain guys are just lacking

the archer one specifically never gets mentioned when he has a really strong Domain essentially a glass cannon that can snipe from infinite range

also the fact that no heros have gotten to lvl 150 yet is just clearly a lack how do I make a character that is already op af more op so instead of fixing that we just avoid it all together. cool ig,

also what happened to the demonic executioner class? the guy who got it never comes up again

alexis and m forgot her name were interesting characters but essentially never get explored again

thr titans are such a waste honestly the first community vote literally killed it voting for hytreeion xD

also another issue rip horns bro such an underrated character yet literally is a gag character every 30 chapters or something
along with the research skill tree which just gets dropped

the spiders are never get used

if you're going to write guys use a excel sheet or something to keep track of things please man

it's just so annoying reading something just for it not to matter in the next 10 or 100 chapters

It's official, it seems the novel has finished on Patreon. Chapters will continue to be uploaded as usual, once a week, but officially there are about five chapters left before the epilogue. butwhy

I've jumped around a few chapters after reading the first few. While it does get better, the general tone stays the same.

The dialog is uncanny and emotionalless, I can't even begin to describe it. If I didn't know any better I say this was created by an AI.

I can see the appeal of it, but the writing structure and lack of emotion/effort just makes it unreadable for me

EDIT: When you down vote me, name one memorable moment from this book. Something that you know will live rent free in your head for the rest of your life

I wish to know why you like and understand your reasoning

true the first 80 chapters are like barely readable the next 30 are okay ish and then the story becomes acutally understandable

besides that it's this story just lacks detail and emotion

the only 2 character that were even remotely interesting become obsolete after year 130

also the community voted power ups are just so lame

titan souls never get used xD

the soul contract never gets used
the biolab upgrade tree never gets brought up again after the 2 hero ladies get kicked out so the beetles become basically useless

If you have any measure of brain youre not gonna enjoy this. Its extremly over rated. Its barely 3 stars. To simplify, if you enjoy shallow wish fullfillment "kingdom building" power fantasy with 2d npc side characters go for it. But there are many better alternatives. While yeah tree mc is cool as F. Here its completly ignored and its just used as shallow feature. If you want an example: Hyperion evergrowing did 10 times better job at the tree theme and explored it way more in the first few chapters then this joke. The lit rpg, which is allready a clutch by itself is unutilised. the whole story is very low effort and amateurish. Ive read tens of better nonhuman mc novels.

To be fair this does read nicely. Its not exactly off putting by itself. Its just that for someone experienced its bad. The reason this story is popular is bescause its adopting the wish fullfillment aspects of many predecesors. Mainly japanese isekais like Re:monster or I reincarnated as a slime. These came out in 2014. How time flyes... Both at least have a hint of internal logic and at least the lit rpg makes some sense. Here, author didn t even try.

TL;DR 4.25/5 Good book with an interesting take an a fairly classic setting. But, some may find grammar at times to be lacking, not a huge issue though.

I came into this book with the perspective of another story about a demonic tree, which I enjoyed in passing, but was not hooked on. But this story really hooked me.

I think the pacing is one of the strongest parts of the story. The main character is an immortal tree, and as time goes on in the story, the pacing reflects his changing perspective of time. For characterization purposes, this is amazing, but it also allows for more background exposition to occur without having to granularilly push the story along. Cities and worlds develop before your very eyes and many times you catch yourself like, "wow it's already been 70 years since that event".

I also think how the classic tropes are subverted in this story is so great. The hero vs demon king trope has been done many, many ways, but the way it is portrayed here is simply amazing (no spoilers). I also like the initial and continual exploration of the morality of what they are doing and how they are doing it. It gives a greater sense of personhood to the characters since they aren't portrayed as almost fanatical in their beliefs, or single minded.

I only have a couple issues with the story. Firstly is the grammar. I don't know if this is a difference between British English and American English, but the use of "isn't it?" and "is it?" when the sentence is talking about something in the past and/or the subject is plural. When I read this type of questioning statement I always get mentally taken out of the story because I was expecting something like "correct?" as the questioning statement. Nevertheless, I still understand it, so it really isn't that big a deal. But there is a good deal of other grammatical errors towards the first 100 chapters, like misspelling of words, or malapropisms where the word written sounds close enough to the grammatically correct word that should've been used. But, again, if you can read English, which I believe most people reading this story can, then it shouldn't really be a problem, just being nitpicky because this story is so good. The second issue I have is the roster of characters. I think this story actually, for the most part, does a good job of having a large number of characters and handling when and where they get time in the plot. But there are other times when I question why there were characters that were introduced and effectively used for a bit, and are still in the story's background, but never mentioned again, or only briefly. The main one I am thinking of is Meela and her gang. I get that the main theme of the story has expanded such that her story is in essence irrelevant, but I feel like there was potential for something more, but she's really only mention when Lausanne is mentioned in some of the later chapters, or the heros. There were also the two elves (forgot their names) that became a teaching and a nursery tree respectively that just are never mentioned again, even when there is plenty of talk about repopulation programs, or breeding programs, as well as teaching institutions. Just feels like wasted opportunity to include these characters.

If I were to rate this story, it would be a 4.25/5. The story itself is really good. There aren't any heavy clichés that aren't there for satirical effect, the cohesiveness of the story especially once the scale grows is impressive, and the main characters are all fantastic.

not my type of novel, i read till year 79, i just don't like the limitations of the system, like whats that that he has a determined number of root attacks? if it was something about energy i would accept it, but it's just a limitation imposed by the system, and i have never liked that type of novels, it doesn't help either that the lvs system is just messed up, we know nothing of how strong is someone lv1 compared to lv 20, but we somehow know that 2 beetles lv 35 can kill a magma golem lv 65, so i think that the fact that later is hard to lvl up but it doesn't reward you,

#panic# The chapters and comments do not align. This might have been caused by the stat page. Also, the chapters do not have numbers, so that may play a part as well.

I also thought about the number of chapters, but then I simply assimilated it. And the fact that they put Aeon's age was original to me, and it's no longer relevant to see the number of chapters you're in, if you're up to date.
